Definitions
- the invention is based on a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a fuel injection pump is known from DE-A-2 839 014.
- Another fuel injection pump known from EP-A-0039304 is constructed in the manner of a distributor injection pump, in which pump pistons which are arranged radially and are supported in a rotatingly driven distributor and which are supported by roller shoes on a cam track which rest on an annular element, which is essentially is fixed but rotatably mounted in the pump housing, is arranged.
- the inward-facing cams cause the pump pistons to move back and forth, alternating suction and delivery strokes, so that fuel under high pressure is supplied to one of several injection lines depending on the positions of the distributor.
- the cam ring is rotatably arranged to adjust the time at which a respective high-pressure delivery stroke of the pump piston begins.
- it has a radially screwed-in connecting element, which has a ball head at the outer end and engages with this in an actuating piston of a spray adjuster.
- the actuating piston is operated by a hydraulic Control fluid adjusts against the force of a return spring and thus changes the rotational position of the cam ring and thus the start of high-pressure delivery of the pump pistons or the start of injection of the fuel injection.
- the connecting member is therefore screwed into a threaded bore arranged in a radially lying cam ring.
- a threaded bore arranged in a radially lying cam ring.
- Such a bore is of great disadvantage in the case of a very heavily loaded part such as the cam ring, which on the one hand has to be hardened in order to have the necessary wear resistance during operation and on the other hand is notch sensitive due to this hardness.
- the fuel injection pump according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1 has the advantage over that the molded connecting member enables a much better introduction of force to the actuating force to be applied to the cam ring and this also applies to the holding force in a specific setting of the cam ring against the twisting forces, that occur due to the running of the rollers on the cams during the delivery stroke of the pump pistons. Furthermore, the connecting member can now be attached to the inside of the cam ring regardless of the position of the cams, since the cam ring wall thickness is no longer influenced, as is the case in the prior art. There is also a simplification for the assembly of the cam ring in connection with the actuator, since the connecting member does not have to be screwed in separately during the assembly because of its relatively small size.
- the connecting member can also be roller-shaped with an axis lying parallel to the axis of the cam ring, which has the advantage that a larger force transmission cross section is available at the point of transition of the connecting part to the cam ring.
- FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment with an axial plan view of the annular part, the cam ring in a first embodiment
- FIG. 2 shows a section perpendicular to the plane of the illustration in FIG. 1 as a plan view of the adjusting part of the cam ring
- FIG. 3 shows a second exemplary embodiment with a modified one Connecting link.
- FIG. 1 shows a cam drive of a fuel injection pump of the distributor pump type in a partial section through the injection pump, which serves to generate the movement of pump pistons of the fuel injection pump, which is not shown in any more detail.
- This injection pump is constructed in the manner of a distributor radial piston pump, of which the section through a distributor 1 is shown in FIG. 1.
- This is driven in rotation by a drive shaft, not shown, and has radial bores 2, which act as pump cylinders Guide pump piston 3.
- a roller tappet 5 is guided in a bore 4 with a larger diameter, which adjoins the bores 2 radially outwards, with a roller 6 which runs on a cam track 7 of a cam ring 8 when the distributor 1 rotates.
- the pump pistons limit a pump work space, not shown, which adjoins the axis of the distributor and which leads via an axial pressure bore 9 to the distributor point (not shown) of the distributor, at which, depending on the rotational position of the distributor, one of several outgoing injection lines distributed around the circumference of the distributor dissipate. These supply the corresponding injection valves.
- four pump pistons are provided in the distributor in a uniformly distributed manner, which together promote the pressure bore 9.
- Corresponding cams 11 facing inwards are provided on the cam track 4.
- the cam track is on a ring with the essential square cross section. While it is sufficient to demand the fuel and to drive the pump pistons that the cam ring is stationary, whereby it is guided in a corresponding cylindrical receptacle of the pump housing (not shown further), it is rotated by adjusting the start of delivery of the pump pistons. Depending on the rotational position of the cam ring, a pressure stroke of the pump pistons will take place sooner or later, thus changing the possible start of fuel injection.
- the cam ring according to the invention now has a connecting member 12 on its outer circumference, which has the shape of a roller which is fitted in one piece onto the cylindrical outer surface of the cam ring. Because of the one-piece design, the connecting member 12 is cylindrical only over part of its outer circumference.
- This roller-shaped connecting member engages in a recess 14 in an adjusting member 16 of an adjusting device 17 for adjusting the cam ring.
- These are the hydraulic injection adjusters which are common in distributor fuel injection pumps and consist of a piston, said adjusting member 16, which is arranged displaceably in a cylinder 18 , a return spring 19 acting on its one end face and a hydraulic actuating pressure 20 acting on its other side, which is constantly supplied via a feed line 21 from a pressure source 22 (not shown).
- the piston 60 is displaced more or less against the force of the return spring 19 and thus adjusts the rotational position of the cam ring and thus the start of injection.
- this adjustment device also has the task of holding the cam ring in the position once set. Against the restoring forces that are caused due to the running of the rollers 6 on the cam 11 during the pressure stroke of the pump piston.
- FIG. 2 shows the top view of a partial section along the line II / II of FIG. 1.
- the section goes through the axis of the roller-shaped connecting member and shows that this is convex in its longitudinal extent in the outer contour. Alignment errors between actuator 16 and cam ring can thus be compensated for.
- a bearing part 24 is inserted into the recess, which comprises the connecting member over an area which is greater than 180 °. In the bearing pan 25 thus formed, the adjusting member can move easily and there is an optimal transmission of force from the actuator to the cam ring.
- the connecting member 12 is provided with a roller-shaped surface only on the sides of its longitudinal extension parallel to the axis of the cam ring, which surface point in the direction of the adjusting movement of the adjusting member 16.
- the connecting member 12 is in direct contact with the recess 14 of the adjusting member 16.
- the connecting member can of course also be machined and have a spherical head-like end with which it engages in a correspondingly shaped recess analogous to the recess 14 in the adjusting member.
