Abstract

The container has sleeves divided into four sections (19a-19d) in a cross form parallel to the side walls of the container and which are spaced one from the other to conform to the wall thickness of the pack unit inserted in the container. The sleeves are in alignment with hollow support profiles which project into the inside of the container and are formed in the side walls of the container.

Description

The invention relates to a plastic container according to the preamble of claim 1.

For reasons of comfort, it is becoming more and more common for bottles or cans to be combined in smaller packaging units for the purpose of transport, often in cardboard packs with two, four, six or even eight bottles or cans as contents. It is expedient here to provide a bottle crate which can both hold the bottles individually and also accommodate smaller packaging units in the manner of two, four, six or eight carton packs and the like.

The object of the invention is to provide such a box or tray which is of a simple overall construction, lightweight and nevertheless of stable construction. According to a further aspect, the outer wall surface of the container should be as smooth as possible, an easy, damage-free insertion the bottles or cans or carton packs are made possible and a secure hold of the bottles or cans or carton packs in the box can be guaranteed. According to another aspect, a display function is also to be achieved which allows the contents of the box to be recognized from the outside by making the bottle labels visible from the outside.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the measures contained in the characterizing part of claim 1, expedient further developments being characterized by the features contained in the subclaims.

According to the invention, quills are provided in the interior of the container as support and holding surfaces, in particular as components for subdividing the container into receiving compartments. These quills are divided according to the invention, so that each quill is divided into several quill parts which are arranged at a distance from one another. This makes it possible to use cardboard packs in the container, usually referred to below as the bottle crate, since the vertical side walls of the cardboard packs can be inserted into the spaces between the quill parts of each individual quill. At the same time, the box can also be used to hold bottles that are not stored in cardboard packs. The box thus fulfills two functions, namely the inclusion of bottles, which are housed or combined in carton packs, and the inclusion of individual bottles. Appropriately aligned support profiles are formed in the box walls with the quills, which limit display openings between them. These support profiles in conjunction with hollow corner profiles help stabilize and stiffen the bottle crate and allow the display openings to be maximized.

The quill parts are expediently designed such that they have rib-like strips in the bottom ribs in the bottom region of the box bottom, which is designed as a rib structure, whereby stiffening is also achieved inside the box by connecting the sleeves to the bottom ribs. The quills are advantageously divided into four quill parts, which is done by a cross division of each quill parallel to the longitudinal and narrow side walls. The distance between the quill parts is designed to match the cardboard packs to be accommodated. In an expedient embodiment, the quill parts are designed as a hollow profile with a triangular cross section. In a further expedient embodiment, the quill parts have a rib-like structure, in particular of three ribs combined at one point, which protrude in the direction of the receiving compartments or on the longitudinal and narrow side walls and with their front ends of contact areas for supporting and holding the Form compartments of bottles taken up. Of course, extensive modifications of the quill parts are possible via the described embodiment. It is also particularly expedient that the display openings limit a box handle on its upper side, which is preferably designed as a slat handle. The combination of a lamellar handle with a section designed as a hollow profile is particularly expedient, which results in a very stiff handle that can withstand even the heaviest loads.

The bottle crate shown in the drawings has two longitudinal and two narrow side walls which, with the essentially rectangular box bottom 3, delimit a box-shaped interior which serves to hold bottles. The description is also applicable to trays that are used primarily to hold cans and in which the height of the side walls is reduced, usually adjusted to the height of cans or smaller, often except for a circumferential lateral support bead. Hollow support profiles 4 are formed in the box side walls 1 and 2, the outer surface 5 of which runs flush with the outside of the box side walls. The support profiles 4, which can extend over the entire height of the crate from the floor to the upper crate of the crate or even only over a portion of the crate height, protrude into the interior of the crate with a triangular or ridge-like projection 6 and limit at 7 bottle holding surfaces . The corner regions 8 of the box are also formed as hollow profiles in the exemplary embodiment shown. As can best be seen from FIG. 1, the support profiles 4 and the corner profiles 8 between them define viewing openings designated by 9. The lower edge 10 of the viewing openings is contoured in the manner of a wave in that the lower edges of the viewing openings 9 are designed to correspond to a wave shape. This also applies to the narrow side wall according to FIG. 2. Alternatively, the upper edge of the viewing openings could also be contoured in a wave shape or both edges, that is to say upper and lower edges. Edge contours over the side wall are also possible.

The upper edge of the box forms 9 handles in the area of the viewing openings, in particular the handle 11 formed on the narrow side 2 through the central viewing opening 9 at the top of the box corresponding to that shown in FIG Detail forms a slat handle 12. The lamella handle according to the illustration in FIG. 1 has a hollow profile, designated 13, in the lower half, to which is connected an essentially U-shaped section 14, the U-shaped interior of which is filled by vertically closely spaced rib-like lamellae 15. The lamellae 15 result in a quasi-closed gripping surface and, in connection with the hollow profile, a very stable grip.

Furthermore, in the exemplary embodiment shown, the same palletizing ribs 16 are formed on the box wall, in particular in the corner region, which are intended to ensure that the boxes are held in place in the stack. In the illustrated embodiment, 5 vertically extending palletizing ribs 16 are provided in the upper area at the box corners, while 7 horizontally extending palletizing ribs 16 are provided at the bottom edge of the box, the number of ribs being of course chosen according to the application, in particular in adaptation to the size of the box can be.

Entsprechend sind die Pinolen 19 in Reihen parallel zu den Längs- und Schmalseitenwänden 1 und 2 angeordnet und fluchten mit den in den Kastenseitenwänden ausgebildeten Stützprofilen 4.Inside the crate, the receiving compartments 18 of the bottle crate are delimited by quills, generally designated 19, and the support profiles 4 projecting into the crate interior, the quills 19 each being arranged in the free space between the bottles set in the crate. Correspondingly, the sleeves 19 are arranged in rows parallel to the longitudinal and narrow side walls 1 and 2 and are aligned with the support profiles 4 formed in the box side walls.

To accommodate cardboard packs, which can accommodate two, four or six bottles as a subunit and are mainly made of cardboard, a division of each sleeve 19 is provided, with a cross division of the sleeves 19 being provided in the illustrated embodiment, so that the sleeves 19 in four spaced apart Quill parts 19a to 19d are subdivided. This creates between the quill parts 19a to 19d of each quill 19 a space 20, which can be seen more clearly in FIG. 4 and which allows a cardboard pack to be accommodated in these gaps 20 between the quill parts. This is indicated schematically in FIG. 3 by a two-pack of cartons, shown in dash-dot lines and provided with the reference number 21. Of course, this is a purely schematic representation of the outer dimensions of a carton pack 21, which is particularly bulged or open in the area of the inwardly protruding supporting and corner hollow profiles, so that the carton pack can be inserted into the bottle crate. Of course, each carton pack can be placed in the bottle crate either lengthways or transversely, the division of each quill permitting the box pack to be accommodated.

To improve the holding function or the supporting function of each sleeve against the bottles, the sleeves are equipped with a corresponding holding surface. In the alternative of a sleeve part in the manner of a hollow profile 22, which can be seen at the top left in FIG. In the further alternative shown, which is designated by 24 in FIG. 2, each sleeve part is designed as a solid element and has rib-like contact tongues 25, here three sleeve tongues per sleeve part, which protrude radially outwards with respect to the sleeve center and contact areas with their ends to hold or support the bottles in the bottle crate. The middle and here shorter contact tongue or contact rib, which is denoted by 26, is advantageously designed such that it merges or opens into the bottom rib in the bottom rib of the box bottom, which is designed here in a rib structure, identified by reference numeral 27. This gives the quill very good stability. Except for the one marked with the reference number 24 Quill design, which is only intended to represent an alternative embodiment, all quills 19 in the exemplary embodiment shown are designed as hollow profiles, the quills being tapered at their upper ends, as can be seen from FIG. Each box preferably has the same quill design. It is understood that the space between the quill parts 19a to 19d are each adapted to the cardboard pack thicknesses to be accommodated. In the intermediate areas between the quill parts 19a to 19d, drain openings 28 are preferably provided in the center, so that rainwater and rinsing water can be appropriately removed for cleaning boxes.
