Abstract

The method involves switching a pre-amplifier (6) to a signal line (5), monitoring (12) the signal line, changing the signal line from the pre-amplifier to a driver (15) with a lower power consumption than the preamplifier according to a monitoring result and switching the preamplifier off when the diver is connected to the signal line. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: a signal processing device for a hearing aid and a hearing aid with one or more signal processing devices.
