Definitions
- the invention relates to a protective cover for saw blades with the features in the preamble of the main claim.
- the rotating saw blade can be pivoted from the normal vertical position to both sides.
- the EP 1 902 822 A1 This shows a protective hood with an enlarged, directed transversely to the saw blade width of its interior, which can cover both the upright, and the pivoted saw blade. If the saw blade can be swiveled on two sides, the guard can be turned by means of a joint. The large width of the rigid protective cover is not required with upright saw blade and hinders the sawing process, in particular the exact guidance of the workpiece during sawing.
- variable shape and adjustable interior width of the claimed guard allow a needs-based adaptation of the guard to the respective shegeer Anlagenisse.
- the width of the interior seen across the saw blade can be set just as large as required for the respective saw blade position.
- Surplus spreads as with the EP 1 902 822 A1 and associated unnecessary obstruction of sawing work and workpiece guidance can be avoided. Even a storage of several different sized, complete protective hoods for their needs-based replacement is not required.
- the claimed guard has the advantage that it is much more flexible than previously known constructions and also a multiple and arbitrary Width change as well as possible to different sides. In addition, the space and storage costs are reduced by the hood adjustability.
- the guard consists of a multi-part hood body and a carrier.
- the body parts may have different shapes, in particular different lateral bulges.
- the carcass parts can be changed, whereby the desired interior width can be achieved by combining appropriate carcass parts.
- a mutual connectivity of the body parts is particularly favorable, wherein the hood body or its body parts can be detachably connected to the carrier.
- a mirror-symmetrical and complementary design of the body parts allows an optional attachment to the left or right side of the hood body. As a result, the number of required body parts can be minimized.
- the plurality of body parts allows an optimal adjustment of the interior width to the respective requirements, wherein the outer width does not have to be made larger than necessary.
- the interference contour of the guard can be kept small.
- the multistage is an adaptation to different influencing factors possible. On the one hand, it can be adapted to different swivel angles of the saw blade. On the other hand, adaptation to different saw blade diameters or blade projections over the machine table is possible. For example, a large saw blade has a larger lateral projection than a small saw blade and requires a larger interior space.
- the guard may be designed as a kit with a range of two, three or more different body parts.
- the body parts can have a flat shape or a bulged shape, in addition, different sized bulges are possible to cover a large width needs-appropriate interior widths can.
- the individual body parts can be stored with minimal storage costs and assembled as needed to a preferably two-part hood body.
- the connection technology used here has the advantage that the assembly can be done without additional tools. All necessary fasteners are located on the hood parts.
- the protective hood can have a safety device with which the respective configuration and orientation of the protective hood can be detected.
- the safety device can be connected to the control and / or the pivoting device of the sawing machine, wherein the permissible pivot angle of the respective saw blade can be adapted to the respective hood configuration and limited. This avoids accidents and incorrect operation and accidental cutting of the saw blade in the hood wall and an associated damage or destruction of the guard. Operator and accident safety is increased.
- the safety device has independent inventive significance and can be successfully used even in previously known constructions, especially with interchangeable protective hoods with a fixed shape.
- the claimed protective hood can be part of the original equipment of sawing machines and can be produced there by the manufacturer, e.g. the carrier is already integrated in the machine.
- the guard can also be retrofitted to existing sawing machines, with an adapted carrier is grown at a suitable location.
- existing hood arrangements can be rebuilt and equipped with the claimed hood body and optionally a carrier.

The adjustability of the guard can be done in various ways. In the preferred embodiment, the guard consists of a multi-part hood body and a carrier. The body parts may have different shapes, in particular different lateral bulges. The carcass parts can be changed, whereby the desired interior width can be achieved by combining appropriate carcass parts. A mutual connectivity of the body parts is particularly favorable, wherein the hood body or its body parts can be detachably connected to the carrier. A mirror-symmetrical and complementary design of the body parts allows an optional attachment to the left or right side of the hood body. As a result, the number of required body parts can be minimized.
The plurality of body parts allows an optimal adjustment of the interior width to the respective requirements, wherein the outer width does not have to be made larger than necessary. The interference contour of the guard can be kept small. Furthermore, the multistage is an adaptation to different influencing factors possible. On the one hand, it can be adapted to different swivel angles of the saw blade. On the other hand, adaptation to different saw blade diameters or blade projections over the machine table is possible. For example, a large saw blade has a larger lateral projection than a small saw blade and requires a larger interior space.
The guard may be designed as a kit with a range of two, three or more different body parts. The body parts can have a flat shape or a bulged shape, in addition, different sized bulges are possible to cover a large width needs-appropriate interior widths can.
The individual body parts can be stored with minimal storage costs and assembled as needed to a preferably two-part hood body. The connection technology used here has the advantage that the assembly can be done without additional tools. All necessary fasteners are located on the hood parts.
The protective hood can have a safety device with which the respective configuration and orientation of the protective hood can be detected. The safety device can be connected to the control and / or the pivoting device of the sawing machine, wherein the permissible pivot angle of the respective saw blade can be adapted to the respective hood configuration and limited. This avoids accidents and incorrect operation and accidental cutting of the saw blade in the hood wall and an associated damage or destruction of the guard. Operator and accident safety is increased.
The safety device has independent inventive significance and can be successfully used even in previously known constructions, especially with interchangeable protective hoods with a fixed shape.
The claimed protective hood can be part of the original equipment of sawing machines and can be produced there by the manufacturer, e.g. the carrier is already integrated in the machine. The invention relates to a protective hood (5) for sawing machines (1). The invention further relates to a sawing machine (1) equipped with such a protective hood (5). Furthermore, the invention is concerned with a Safety device (6) and a kit (43) for a protective hood (5).
The protective cover (5) serves to reliably cover the saw blade (2) in the sawing operation. The protective hood (5) can be arranged fixedly or detachably on a holder (4) of the sawing machine (1), wherein the holder (4) can have a height adjustment for the protective hood (5), with which an automatic height adjustment of the protective hood (5) depending on the workpiece height is possible. The adjusting device can also offer further adjustment options in one or more axes for the protective cover (5).
The sawing machine (1) may have a suction device (36) which may be suitably connected to the protective hood (5) and with the chips, dust and others Particles can be sucked. The protective hood (5) has a laterally closed shape with a lower hood opening (13) for receiving the saw blade (2) in the hood interior (10). The suction device (36) can be connected to a further and preferably upper hood opening (12).
The protective cover (5) has a variable shape and is adjustable in the width (w) of its interior (10). The width (w) means the transverse to the saw blade (2) directed hood extension. The protective hood (5) can hereby be adapted to different swivel angles, varying diameters and correspondingly varying lateral projections of the saw blade (2). This change can be made by changing the protective cover itself. The width adjustment can be infinitely or in one or more stages. The guard (5) may also be changed in orientation as needed, e.g. to be rotated around the vertical axis. These changes of the hood shape are possible in various ways.
In the embodiments shown, the protective hood (5) consists of a carrier and a shape-variable hood body (8), which are coupled by a detachable connection (9). The hood body (8) can be changed in shape and can also be mounted in different orientations on the carrier (7). The detachable connection (9) of the carrier (7) and hood body (8) can for this purpose have a sliding guide (32) with an end stop and a locking device (34).
The carrier (7) can be connected to the sawing machine (1) and in particular with its holder (4) in a suitable manner. In the embodiments shown, the carrier (7) consists of two support arms (37) in the longitudinal direction of the hood body (8) spaced from each other and arranged on both sides of a hollow support beam (35) and attached to it. The hollow support beam (35) may be part of the carrier (7) or of the holder (4) and may communicate with the upper hood opening (12) on the hood body (8), so that here sawdust etc. sucked off and over the support beam ( 35) can be transported to the suction device (36). In the other areas, the carrier (7) covers the hood body (8) upwards and closes it. The hood body (8) otherwise has a closed except for the lower and upper hood opening (12,13) form.
In the absence of suction, the carrier (7) and the hood body (8) may have a different shape, e.g. the carrier (7) may be integrally formed. It can also be part of the holder (4).

The hood body (8) is designed in several parts and consists of several interchangeable body parts (16,17,18,19). In the embodiment shown, the hood body (8) is in two parts and is composed of two detachably interconnected body parts (16, 17, 18, 19). He has a longitudinal dividing plane (11) extending along the main plane of the upright saw blade (2). The parting plane (11) and the main plane may be aligned or adjacent in a parallel position.
Die lösbare Verbindung (9) und insbesondere die Schiebeführung (32) lässt dies zu.The body parts (16,17,18,19) may otherwise have a matching shape and in particular a same length. They can be directly connected with each other, wherein the hood body (8) for this purpose has a connecting device (29) which can be used without additional tools. The body parts (16,17,18,19) are preferably complementary to each other and can be optionally arranged on the left and right side of the hood body (8). By a corresponding mirror image design, they can be rotated at a page change. The hood body (8) can also be changed overall in its orientation and in particular rotated about the vertical axis. The detachable connection (9) and in particular the sliding guide (32) allows this.

The protective hood (5), in particular its hood body (8), can be designed as a kit (43) with two, three or more differently shaped body parts (16, 17, 18, 19), from which the operator or operator of the sawing machine (FIG. 1) can assemble the desired type and shape of the protective cover (5) if necessary. He needs by the optional left and right mounting option only a few carcass parts (16,17,18,19) to stockpile, take by their slim and nestable form even little storage space.
The body parts (16,17,18,19) abut each other at the longitudinal dividing plane (11) and form a closed on the side circumference hood shape. The parting plane (11) can be arranged in the hood device centered on the vertically standing saw blade (2), so that this is a correct distance to both sides each adjacent hood side wall has.

The connecting device (29) has mutual guide and fixing elements (30, 31) on the fittings (25). For this example, the guide elements (30) as transversely to the parting plane (11) projecting pins with corresponding mounting holes on the fitting (25) of the other body part may be formed. The fixing elements (31) can be knurled screws which are inserted through the roller axes and into a mating thread on the grab another body part. The hood body (8) can be made by this connection technology to a self-supporting and stable insert part, which on the carrier (7) can be releasably attached.
The body parts (16,17,18,19) each have a disk body (20) on which the fittings (25) are attached. The disk body may be transparent and e.g. Made of plastic. The disk body (20) may have different shapes. The body part (16) may have a flat and substantially flat disk body (20). In the other body parts (17,18,19), the disk body (20) can show a cup-shaped lateral curvature to form the different bulges (21). The disk body (20) may each have one at the end faces and at the upper edge (23) has a circumferential flange (22) which extends parallel to the parting plane (11) and on which the frontal fittings (25) are mounted.
If this is a sliding guide, the connecting elements (33, 38) are aligned along the hood longitudinal axis or parting plane (11). The body parts (16, 17, 18, 19) can in this case each have their own connection elements (33), which are designed, for example, as longitudinally oriented strips fastened to the upper edge of the pane (23) and to the flange region there. The strips (33) project laterally less far than the fittings (25), so that the assembled hood body (8), a clearance between the strips (33) results in the formation of the upper hood opening (12) in the region of the supporting beam ( 35) and the otherwise by the support arms (37) and their
Verbindungselemente (38) abgedeckt und geschlossen wird.Connecting elements (38) is covered and closed.
The carrier (7) or its support arms (37) have a strip holder (38) with two-sided recesses (39) which are formed as longitudinal, lateral open grooves and in which the strips (33) can be inserted. By means of the locking device (34), e.g. a on the support beam (35) arranged rotatable clamping device with an eccentric or the like, the connecting elements (33,38) can be clamped.
The protective hood (5) can have a safety device (6), which can also be used in conventional protective hoods with a rigid shape. About the safety device (6), the orientation of the protective hood or the hood body (8) can be detected. In addition, for the adjustable guard (5) according to the invention, an identification of the body parts (16, 17, 18, 19) in the pairing and their alignment, i. left- or right-sided arrangement, to be detected. In addition, it can be determined whether the hood body (8) or its body parts (16, 17, 18, 19) are correctly received in the detachable connection (9) to the carrier (7) and, for example, pushed as far as the stop of the sliding guide (32) , This stop position can also be used when using a conventional protective hood with a rigid shape.
The safety device (6) has a signal element (40) on the hood body (8) for signaling its shape and orientation and a detection device (41) on the carrier (7) for its detection. There are different design options for this. The arrangement can also be reversed. The detection result can be evaluated and used in different ways.
The detection means (41) is e.g. arranged on the carrier (7) and has one or more sensors (42) for detecting the signal or the elements (40) and its or their coding. In the arrangement shown of two troughs on the strips (33) on both sides of the parting plane (11) two sensors (42) are arranged on the carrier (7). The sensor pairs are also offset in hood longitudinal direction to each other. The sensors (42) may be e.g. be inductive or capacitive proximity switch, which can recognize and distinguish the arranged below them strip surface or depression.
The detection device (41) can be arranged at a suitable location of the carrier (7). In the exemplary embodiment shown, it is located in the region of the upper hood opening (12) and can be arranged in the hollow interior of the carrier spar (35), in particular at its front and rear edge in the hood longitudinal direction. This arrangement protects the sensors (42) and does not hinder the hood exhaust.
Variants of the shown and described
Embodiments are possible in various ways. The protective cover (5) can be made from possibly infinitely adjustable and in particular flexible walls that are deformable or in their mutual position, eg in a telescopic arrangement, are variable. Here, for example, a folding construction or a bellows construction is possible. It is also possible to connect the fittings (25) to a bow-shaped and possibly with an upper hood opening (12) provided part with each other and laterally attach to this bracket part disc body with different curvatures. The disk body may have a flat or a different bulged shape. It is also possible to form a fitting as a bar-shaped support member and releasably mount here differently curved disc body. The said fittings can be coupled in these variants on the releasable connection with the carrier, wherein the releasable connection or guide is adjusted accordingly. Furthermore, the above-described joining techniques can be varied. For the connection of the body parts (16,17,18,19) with each other or with another aforementioned fitting suitable quick fasteners, such as buckles or the like may be provided.
The safety device (6) can also be modified. The signal element (40) can be designed and arranged differently, for example as a magnet, lateral bore in the strip or the like, and can also vary in the number of its components. In this case, for example, a single signal element (40) can be located on a conventional rigid protective hood. If a deformable or laterally extendable hood body is used, the signal element (40) is suitably coupled to the adjustment and designed accordingly. According to the aforementioned modifications, the detection device (41) is designed and arranged differently. It can also be used to signal the detection result with a display, an acoustic signal or optical warning device or the like. There are also other evaluation and reaction possibilities, eg a full stop of the sawing machine (1), a storage of the detection results for a documentation, eg in the context of a quality assurance or the like.
Of the embodiments described above, the following features have a preferred meaning, which they each enjoy individually. The features also have significance in different combinations with each other. The protective hood (5) is variable in its orientation and width, in particular the width (w) of an inner space (10) of its hood body (8), and is adaptable to different inclinations and sizes of a pivotable saw blade (2). The protective hood (5) can be connected to an adjustable holder (4) of a sawing machine (1).
The protective hood (5) has a hood body (8) and a carrier (7), these hood parts (7, 8) preferably being in a detachable connection (9). The connection (9) can be formed, for example, by a sliding guide (32) and a locking device (34).
The protective hood (5) has a multi-part hood body (8) which is designed, for example, as a kit (43) with three or more exchangeable body parts (16, 17, 18, 19). A hood body (8) is preferably composed of two body parts (16, 17, 18, 19) that are detachably connected to one another. The body parts (16,17,18,19) may have the same or different shapes. A body part (16) may, for example, have a flat shape and another body part (17, 18, 19) has a laterally bulged shape. Several body parts (17,18,19), eg within a kit (43), may have different sized lateral bulges (21).
A hood body (8) may have at least one frontal grip (14) and a roller assembly (15).
The body parts (16,17,18,19) of a multi-part hood body (8) may have a flat or curved and optionally transparent disk body (20). A disk body (20) of the body parts (16, 17, 18, 19) can have a peripheral flange (22) in the region of a longitudinal separating plane (11).
The body parts (16,17,18,19) have at the upper edge (23) a connecting element (33) for the releasable and positive, bilateral connection (9) with a connecting element (38) of the carrier (7), wherein the connecting element (33) is formed, for example, as a longitudinal and attached to the upper flange portion bar. The carrier (7) can have a strip holder (38) with recesses (39) on both sides. A support (7) can have two support arms (37) with connecting elements (38) which are spaced apart in the longitudinal direction and are arranged on both sides of a hollow support beam (35).
The protective hood (5), in particular its hood body (8), may have a safety device (6) with a signal element (40). Such a signal element (40) can be arranged on a connecting element (33) of body parts (16, 17, 18, 19) and can be formed by a plurality of wells with a coded arrangement. A detection device (41) arranged on the carrier (7) can have a plurality of sensors (42) for detecting a coded well arrangement. A detection device (41) on the carrier (7) can be arranged in the region of the upper hood opening (12).
