Abstract
Description
- The present invention belongs to the field of display containers for products including elastic means, such as elastic bands, to bring the products towards a part of the container where they can be displayed.
- Containers are known for products where said products are constantly pushed towards an opening of the container, where the products are displayed, by elastic means, normally an elastic band, such that when a product is removed the elastic means make the remaining products be displayed always in the same way to the consumers, as near as possible for extraction and/or as visually and commercially as possible.
- Patent
US2801000 discloses a display container for laminar products stacked vertically and displayed through an upper anterior opening by the traction exerted by an elastic band. The opening in which the products are displayed is small, in accordance with the laminar products, and a semicontainer within another semicontainer is required, resulting in a product that is aesthetically displeasing and expensive to manufacture. - Patent
WO2014006398 discloses a display container for horizontally stacked products where, before forming the container, on the sheet, an elastic band is attached such that the container is formed with the products inside it and as it is formed the products are pulled by the elastic band, such that the container is complicated to assemble and if the elastic band fails the container must be discarded or unfolded to restore the sheet, remove the products, change the elastic band and repeat the forming process. - The present invention solves the drawbacks of the prior art by the design of a display case with an elastic band.
- The present invention is established and characterised in the independent claims, while the dependent claims describe additional characteristics thereof.
- The invention relates to a display container with an elastic band that is easy to form and allows using existing formats with minimal modifications. The technical problem addressed is configuring the shape, cuts and folding lines of the container and arranging the elastic band to obtain the aforementioned goal.
- The term 'display case' refers to a container holding products which can display said products to consumers.
- An advantage resulting from the container according to claim 1 is that it is easy to form, simply by folding a sheet and placing an elastic band on the outside, allowing to use currently existing formats with minor changes thereby avoiding large investments in new dies.
- Another advantage resulting from claim 1 is that the products are not pulled at all times, only when the breakable upper portion is removed, which is generally when the products are displayed, such that they cannot be damaged if the elastic band is squashed.
- Another advantage resulting from claim 1 is that the same container provides a display case in a simple manner and can be placed directly on the shelf of a store without having to transfer the products to a different container or install an intermediate container between the container described herein and the shelf of the store.
- Another advantage resulting from
claim 2 is that, at the area where the elastic band pulls on the products, said elastic band is level with the container and provides aesthetic continuity with the same, resulting in a smooth design. - Another advantage resulting from
claims 3 and 4 is that the conversion into a display case is performed in a simple manner. - Another advantage resulting from claim 5 is that the container can be quite sturdy and suitable for large and/or relatively heavy products.
- This specification is supplemented with a set of drawings illustrating the preferred embodiment, which are never intended to limit the invention.
-
Figure 1 is a plan view of the sheet showing a dotted breakable region. -
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the container about to be formed without being closed by the tabs. -
Figure 3 shows the container offigure 2 formed completely and upright, with the elastic band ready to be fitted. -
Figure 4 shows the container offigure 3 in which the elastic band has been fitted. -
Figure 5 shows the container offigure 4 in which the upper breakable portion has been removed, exposing the products. -
Figure 6 shows the container offigure 5 where two products have been removed and the elastic band pulls the remaining products towards the anterior part of the container. - An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the figures.
-
Figures 5 and6 show a display container (1) containing products (3) stacked horizontally that comprises an elastic band (2) for bringing said products (3) towards the anterior part thereof. - Said display container (1) is formed by a quadrangular cardboard sheet (1.1),
