This invention relates to certain novel improvements on mechanism adapted forlessening the manual labor required to operate sewing machinery and other light `machinery.
The nature of my invention consists- First, in the application of a driving belt-wheelto a shaft, which forms the axis of an oscillatingseat, the

The stud b, which is' fixed to the arm B' of seati'ame B, is made long enough to receive the upper end of the rod J, and, when this rod is thus adjusted, it will be seen that it -will serve as a brace for rigidly holding the seat-trame when it is desired to operate themachiue by the treadle T alone.
