Anc-ther object ot this invention is toyimprove and simplify devices of this character, rendering` them comparatively simple and inexpensive to manufacture, reliable and etiicient in use and readily operated.
lVith the above and other objects in view this invention resides in the novel Jfeatures of construction, formation, combinations and arrangements of parts to be hereinafter t'ully described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawing in Which:
lFigure 1 is a vertical longitudinal sectional view taken through my improved valve, and Fig. 2 is a horizontal sectional view taken on the line 2 2 ot Fig. 1.
Referring to the drawing by similar char- .actors ot reference throughout the several views, the numeral 5 designates generally a fragment ot a washstand in which is located an opening (i tor the reception of my iniproved valve 7. This valve 7 comprises a cylindrical easing S the upper end of which reducetL as indicated by the numeral 9, which reduced portion is partially separated :trom the valve casing hy a horizontal web 10.
The upper end of the reduced portion 9 is exteriorly threaded as at 11 'for engagement with locking nuts 12 and 13 which when the said threaded portion is extended through the aperture 6 will engage the opposite faces ot the washstand 5 and hold the valve against displacement.
The locking` nut 13 is preferably in the form of a cap formed with a central opening` 15 through which operates a plunger rod 16. Cotter pin 17 extends through an opening 'l'ormed in the plunger rod 16 and limits the upward movement thereot" by its contact with the lower side of the cap, While the upper terminal otl the said rod 16 is threaded to engage a socketed head l8preterahly in the form o'l' a thumb button providing a means whereby this ,plunger rod can be operated, y
rlhe plunger rod 1G contacts with, upon its downward movement, a valve stem 19 slidalol y located in an opening 20 :formed in the horizontal web 10. This stem 19 also passes through a gland Q1 formed by enlarging the upper end ot' the opening 20. A quantity of packing 22 surrounds the stem 19 within the gland 2l and is held therein i against displacement hy a screw cap 23 threaded within said gland. A head 24 is formed upon the lower end oft the stem 19 for engagement with a hall valve 25, which is forced upwardly intothe socket formed in the lower face ot the head 24 and also to engage a seat 26 located at the lower end of the web 10 in the upper extremity of the casing 8.
An outlet 2( projects laterally from the upper end of one side of the casing 8, and communicates with the interior thereoi"l through an l.shaped port 28 which extends centrally through the Valve seat 26. An inlet extension 29 projects from the lower end oit the casing 8 oppositely to the before men tioned extension 27 and is formed with an opening 3() through which tluid is admit-ted to the valve casing' 8. These said extensions 27' and Q9 are each externally threaded for engagement with outlet and inlet conduits which are not shown in the drawing.
rlhe lower end oit the valve casing8 is internally threaded as at 31 to receive a nut or closure 32 while in order to prevent any leakage hetween the said threads, a `:gasket 83 is interposed between the lower end ot' the said casing 8 and a ilange 34- formed upon the closure 32. This said closure 32 is further provided with an angular extension 35 which provides a means ci engagement with a wrench not shown whereby the said closure may he removed if desired.
A spider 3G is slidahly located within the casingv 8 and in contact with the inner surface thereof. This spider is formed in its upper tace with a socket 37 to engage the hall 25 and in spaced relation from its periphery with a plurality of passages 38 through which fluid passes, in tiowing from llt) the inlet port to the outlet port. The'spider 36 has depending from its lower side a concentrically located lug 38 which engages the upper end of a helical spring 39, the lower end of which is engaged. by a lug 40 formed upon the upper face of the closure 32 at its central point. v
The ball valve 25 is at all times yieldingly held in engagement with the seat 26 through the medium of the spider 36 and spring 39 except when pressure is exerted upon 'the rod or plunger 16 which causes the downward movement of the valve stem 19 and consequently the downward movement of the valve against the tension of the spring 39 which causes its upward movement as soon as the plunger is released.
It should be noted that the valve 25 is loosely arranged between the seat 26 head connection with the accompanying drawing it will be manifest that a valve of the nature described is provided for which will fulfil all of the device.

Having thus fully described this inven-Av bore and the inside of the casing, a plate' slidable in the casing, having a plurality of openings formed therein and provided cen-V necessary requirements of such a trally with a concave surface, a ball mounted in the casing between the valve seat and the plate, a coil sprin disposed between the plate and the sait plug, a `rofl slidably mounted in the extension, an enlarged headl formed on the rod and bearing against the periphery of the ball and means for actuating the said rod to open'the valve.
