Plow' Handle.

No.v 108,671. Patented Oct. 25, 1870.

Speclcation forming part of Letters Patent No. 108,67Ldated October 25,1570; antedated October 7, 1870.

.To all whom it may concern.'

Be it known that I, WILLIAM E. WYcIIE, of Brookville, in the county of Granville and State of North Carolina, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Plow-Handles; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description th ereof, whichv will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification, in which the figure is a side view of the upper part of the plow-handle, to which the hand-piece is attached, partly in section to show the construction.

My invention has for its object to improve the construction of plow-handles, so as to make the connection between the hand-piece and handle more iirm and secure; and it consists in the construction and combination of the hand-piece, sleeve or socket, and handle, as hereinafter more fully described.

A is the handle, the lower end of which is secured to the plow and plow-beam, in the ordinary manner.

B is a sleeve or band, which is tted upon the upper end of handle A.

In the rear part of the band or sleeve B, which is made thicker for that purpose, is formed a hole or socket to receive the forward end of the hand-piece C, which is securely wedged in place, the upper end of the socket or band B being beveled off for convenience in wedging the said hand-piece. The socket or sleeve D may be adjustably secured to the handle Aby means of a detachable wedge, or it may be permanently wedged to the said handle, as may be desired.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patentf rIhe sleeve' B, having two sockets at right angles to each other, combined with a handpiece, C C, and plow-handle A, each relatively. constructed, and all arranged to form an improved attachment for plows, as shown and described.
