IMPROVEMENT IN FUNNELS.
Specication forming part of Letters Patent No. 118,051, dated August 15, 1871.
To all lwhom tt may concern:
Be it known that I, NORMAN L. PRICE, of Lynchburg, in the county of Campbell and State oi' Virginia, have invented a new and Improved Funnel; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being; had to the accompanying` drawing forming-.part of this specifcation.
This invention relates to improvements in funnels, and it consists in having a top or cover on the funnel with holes adapted for supportin g the dii'erent measures used, bottom up, with the open ends entering said holes to drain and exclude Ilies and other insects and dirt.
rlhe drawing is a perspective view of the improved funnel, partly sectioned.
A is an ordinary funnel, to which I propose to apply a cover, B, preferably raised a little above the top by a vertical band or rim, C with holes in it of different sizes adapted to receive the measures D by their upper ends, said measures being` inverted as the liquid is poured in through the hole adapted to the measure being,` emptied and entered in its hole, as shown, to be supported thereat for drawing and closing,l the funnel against the admission of insects or dirt while not in use;
The funnel is more particularly applicable for molasses and other liquids which Ilow sIuggShly, but may be used for any.
Having,` thus described. my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The funnel A, provided with a cover, B, havin g holes adapted for receiving and holding the measures D and used therewith, all substantially in the manner specied. Y
