To all 'whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, MARTIN THORSEN REL- LING, a citizen of the United at Butler, in the county of Butler and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Seals for Car- Doors, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a seal for car doors, more particularly doors for refrigerator cars, and is a division of my application filed June 8th, 1915, Serial No. 32967, and Abesides the object set forth in the application referred to a further object is to provide, in a manner yas hereinafter set forth, a sliding car door, more particularly for use in connection with refri erator cars, or for other purposes wherein it is found applicable, with means for setting. up a seal between the door and the door frame when the door is in a position to close the door opening temperature within the car can not be reduced from atmospheric influences.
-Further objects of the invention are to4 provide a car door seal which is simple in its construction and arrangement, strong, durable, eflicient in its use, and comparatively inscope of the claim 'xpensive to set up v.with respect to the car,
oor.
With' the foregoing and other objects in view the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrailigement of parts as hereinafter more spec' cally scribed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein is shown an ein ent of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modifications can be resorted vto which come within the hereunto appended.
`In the drawings wherein like reference charactes denote corresponding parts throughout the several views V Fi re 1 is a sectional plan, illustrating a sea ing means in accordance with this'in- 45,
invention. l v

pocket 10 with 4 'Ehe side 59 of the car body has an open- 3 and secured to the inner face of the si e 59, by holdfast devices 65, is a door jamb 66, having each of its sides, its to and its bottom provided with a strip 67 o any suitable material as shown in Fig. 3 The front face of the strip 67 is corru ted as at 68. The strip 67 is of less wid than the width of the ocket 10.
When the the jamb, the corrugated strip or strips 68 will compress the compressible member thereby sealing the door, when the latter. is shifted to-close the opening. y
