I Henry 7 2 21513. 'Josepfzme Trust 351 ('lflioz A new i n JOSEPHINE TRUST HENRY TRUST, 0F PARK RIDGE, NEW lllldlMG-NURQ,

Application filed September--18, 1919.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, JOSEPHINE Tuner and HENRY TRUST, citizens of the United States, residing at Park Ridge, in the county of Bergen and State Of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Food Machines, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

Our invention relates to improvements in mixing and beating machines and has refer ence to means in combination therewith for swinging the container laterally into and out of position from beneath the tool, and is also adapted to provide means for mounting a scraper for operating upon the inside of the container and for housing the transmission mechanism of said machine.

Referring to the accompanying drawing, we have illustrated in perspective partly in cross-Section a suitable form of machine embodying an application of our invention.

2 is the standard, 3 a suitable form of motor, and 4 the closure or housing for the transmission mechanism by means of which said motor drives the chuck 5 adapted to re ceive the square end 6 of the shaft to which the cross-bar 7 is secured. 8 indicates the outer extremity of the arm 9 and is provided with a gear 10 adapted to mesh with the inion 11 mounted to rotate within the brac et 7 as shown so that as the chuck 5 rotates, the bracket 7 is rotated thereby carrying the pinion 11 around the gear 10 there by rotating the beater 12'upon its own axis and simultaneously around the gear 10. 13 indicates a suitable scraper secured at the outer end of the bracket 7 by any suitable means such as the wing-nut '14 thereby insuring the removal of the material from the in- Speclfication of Letters Patent.

side of the container 15 while thoroughly whipping or beating the same. The outer end of the arm 9 may be forked to receive the spindle 6 and may be held in engagement therewith by any suitable means such as the lock 16 said bracket being pivotally supported at 17 so that it may be swung upon said pivotal bearing, the inner end being cut away to receive the pin 18 and a wing-nut such as 19 being provided to securely hold the same in position. 20 indicates a suitable bracket secured upon the side of the standard 2 and provided with a pin 21 adapted to pass through the bracket 22 provided with the ring 23 for supporting the container 15 as shown, from all of which it will be seen that the container with or without the tool may be swung clear of the spindle or chuck 5 for cleaning, assembling or repairs as may be desired.

Of course it will be understood that various modifications maybe made in the construction and arrangement of parts without departing from the spirit of the invention as claimed.

We claim:

In a machine of the class described having a-tool chuck, means for mounting a container to swing laterally of the tool chuck thereof, and in combination therewith means for mounting the tool supporting mechanism to swing laterally therewith.

- In testimony whereof wehereunto ailix our signatures in the presence of two witnesses.
