This invention relates to folding tables .and the like and the object of the invention is to improve the construction of folding tables and the like in the manner to be hereinafter described and claimed. 7

- Referring to the drawings, the reference numerals 1 and 2 designate side rails to which legs 3, 4, 5 and 6 are hinged. The legs are hinged together in pairs so that .the table can be folded by moving the legs into parallelism, which brings the-side rails together, and then one pair of legs can be turned parallel with the side -rails I and the other pair of legs can be turned parallel with the first pair of legs and the side rails. In order that the table may be folded as hereinbefore described, it will be understood that the pivots 21, or the apertures therefor in the hinges or hinge members for the legs 3 and 4 are only at a sufiicient distance from the legs 3 and 4 to permit these legs to be folded parallel with the side rails, while the. pivots 21, or the apertures therefor in the hinges or hinge membersfor the legs 5 and 6 are at a greater distance from the legs 5 and 6 by the thickness of the legs 3 and 4.
The hinge and joint construction for the legs 3 and 4. and the legs 5 and 6, by which they are united pivotally 1n pairs are orscription in this specification.
\Vhat is claimed is:
1. In a table of the character described,
