Ais the wood portion of the postfand B `the metal cap, the latter .being made iu two and then pointed out parts, a b, and secured by bolts C, the bolts being inserted from the under side ofthe flan ge d., forming the cornice7 and the nut bein g conned by the lug d, cast on the inner Wall ot' the part a. The upper part overlaps the lower part itt the joint c, so as'to eftectually prevent the rain from getting inside.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Putent- The metallic post-capB, made in two parts, a b, jointed at e, and provided with fasti ningbolts C, passing through flange d and lugs d as and for the purpose described.
