and more particularly to a liquid dispensing receptacle.

It is a purpose of invention to provide a portable liquid dispensing receptacle that is adapted for use in dispensing liquid soap 'or similar material in hospitals or similar placesfwhere it is desired'to move the re U n n limiting axial movement ot the receptacle 'cepta'ele from place to place instead o fmaintaining the saine in a permanent position o n 'a wall asis customary with devices of this character. l l

I desire to have it distinctly under- Astood that I do notintend to limit myself to the exact details shown or described, but that I intend to include as part of my invention all such obvious changes and modifications of parts as would occur to a person skilled iii this art and as would fall within the scope of the claims.

Referring `in detail to the drawingsimy improved portable dispensing liquid receptacle comprises a base member which is provided with a metal cover plate 11 having a down-turned flange portion 12.0011- nected with the top portion thereof by means of abevelled portion 13. A handle member 14 is secured to the base member 10 by means of the screw-threaded securing members 15 which have heads 16 seated in counter-sunk openings 17 in the base member 10 and a layer of felt or similar material 18 is secured to the under side of ther base 10 covering the heads 15 of the said members 16. The securing members 16 screw-threadedly end gage openings 19 in the handle member 14, said handle member having substantially straight parallel. upstanding portions 20 which are connected by `means oftheA bowed portion 21. The upstanding vportions 2O are provided with screw-threaded openings 22 receiving the reduced screw-threaded por' tions 23 of pivot members 24 which have enlargements 25 thereon, engagingy with the members `2O and providing shoulders '26 for relativev to the pivot members. Mounted Vbetween the upstanding portions j 20 yofthe handle inlspaced relation `tothe Y bowed portion 21 thereof and the base mem-y ber 10 is a substantially cylindrical 'liquid receptacle having a substantially.cylindrical glass body portion 27 which -is providedwith .inwardly bowed portions 28 forming recesses 29 in the end walls thereof offset from the axis of the cylindrical wall portion of the receptacle which align with openings 30 provided in the metal cap members 31 mounted on opposite ends of the cylindrical glass member 27, said openings 30 being formed by a punching operation thus forming a sleeve-like extension of the material of the cap member directedinwardly toward the recesses 29 and embracing the pivot member 24 extending therethrough. The cap members 31 are made of metal and have the curved edge portions 32 terminating in inwardly turned hook-like ianges 33 thaty seat in the kcircumferential grooves 34 cast in the-'glass body portion 27. It will thus be4 seen that the receptacle is pivotally mounted on an axis eccentric to the longitudinal axis of the same on the handle memy y ber 14. v

The liquid receptacle is provided with a dispensing nozzle which operates in substanf tially the usual manner, said dispensing noz- Zle being mounted on the outwardly extending boss 35 cast on the member 27'to which the metal sleeve 36 having the screw-threaded portion 37 formed thereon is cemented or otherwise secured., Screw-threadedly engaged with the threaded portion 37 is the threaded portion 38 onthe cap member 39, said cap member having ar tubular member 40 extending into thereeptacle therefrom which is providedwith a plurality of open ings 41 therethrough and which is openat the lower end 42l thereof and which has a valve member 43 slidable therein. The valve member 43 controls the flow of liquid 44 from the receptacle having a valt/"e portion 45 adapted to engage `)tfitti the valve facilitate tilting of the receptacle onv its axis an operating member 50 is castfin the'glass body portion 27 of the receptacle Tunning lengthwise, thereof and having a substantia-lly perpendicular tace 5l on one side thereoi:l and a bevelled ace 52 on the other sideV thereof. The person to Whom soap is to be dispensed, for example, may operate the sameA by pushing downwardly on the right-angular tace 51 of theoperating mem-` ber 50 with the linger tips, thus tilting the same to the position shown in Fig. 2 when the liquid will run from the end of the nozzle into the cupped hand oi' the operator.

A ldevice of the character describedv comprising a substantially cylindrical glass receptacle having recesses in the end Walls thereof and having circumferential lgrooves adjacent said end Walls, and metallic caps on the ends of said receptacle having flanges entering said grooves and having pivot pinV openings aligning with said recesses.

A container device for pivotal mounting on a frame having spaced supports provided With pivots, comprising a receptacle to receive the pivots, and caps on the opposite Wall portions of the receptacle vhaving having opposite Wall provided with recesses pivot'pin apertures aligned ywith said rev cesses through which the pivot pins project into said recesses;
