This invention relatesto'improvements in furniture, iarticularl'v cabinetsV and ymore l particularly to a telephone cabinet which is adapted toreadilyreceive a telephone instru. ment, and it is the principal object ofthe inventionto provide a telephone cabinet which will positively prevent the use ofthe `telephone instrument by unauthorized persons.
Another object of theinvention is the provision of a telephone cabi-net which may be supported on a. table, tripod-or any other suitable support and which. has combined therewith a small desk serving as containerv for pencils or the like articles, and allowing the taking of messages.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a telephone cabinet having an opening in its front wall for the passage of the speaker or mouth piece which is surrounded bya luminous circle in order to allow the operation in the dark.
A still further object of the invention is the provision of a telephone cabinet provided with doors which can be locked and which are equipped with suitable alarm bells or the like.
Other objects are the provision of av mirror in front of the cabinet and of'suitable ornamental featnres on the front wall, a hinged cover for the cabinet which covers a falsetop spaced therefrom and suitablefor the reception of ash trays,-match`and ash receivers, cigarette receptacles and the like articles, while the inner face of the hinged cover may be adapted to display pictures or the like. It is furthermore an object of the present invention to combine the cabinet with a cash receptacle into which the cash for calls may be deposited and which is arranged within the cabinet protected by the closed doors thereof. The cabinet furthermore contains a shelved container for the reception of notes, etc., and on the inner door face a list of the telephone exchanges and numbers more frequently Called by a subscriber is arranged.
These and other objects and advantages of our invention will become more fully known as the description thereof proceeds, and will then be more specifically defined in the appended claim.
