My invention refers to flashlights and it has for its object to provide a simple, eco-- nomical and effective holder for any type of flashlight, whereby the same can be quickly adjustedto the wrist of a user for convenient manipulation. By employing some means for attaching the flashlight to the wrist, it is obvious that both hands of the user are free and thus the advantages of the light can be obtained without jeopardizing manipulation of both hands, as for example, repairing automobiles, or in any case where a light is used as an aide to the duty or occupation of the user.

I-Ieretofo-re it has been necessary to hold the light in one hand and at times when both hands were to be used, the light was placed upon the floor or the user. WVith my device the light is always accessible and its rays can be directed directly upon thework of the party using both hands, the location of the bulb with respectto the hand being such that the rays of light are not obstructed.

With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in certain pecularities of construction and combination of parts, as hereinafter will be set forth. 1

In the drawings Figure 1 representsa side elevation of a flashlight embodying the features of my invention, with parts broken away and in section to more clearly illustrate certain structural features.

Figure 2 is a cross section of the same, as indicated by line 22 of Figure 1. p 1

Referring by characters to the drawing, 1 represents a flexible wristband of any suit able material adapted to about the wrist by a standard buckle 2. In this exemplification of my invention the band has riveted or otherwise secured thereto a pair of spring clamps 3 spaced apart, as indicated in Figure 1. These clamps'may have roughened end surfaces to form frictional grips and they are adapted to firmly clamp the knurled barrel or tube of a standard flashlight. The flashlight is provided with the usual control button 5 and batteries 6.

The contact end 7 of the bulb is engaged by the spring strip 8 which is secured to the gooseneck and the oppositeends of said strip 8 are adapted to engage the last unit or battery cell, whereby the contact is maintained.

Thus, it will be seen that when the battery shell is firmly gripped it will not twist inits mounting and the gooseneckor offset section 6' will throw the rays of light clear of the closed fist of the operator.

While I have shown one specific method of detachably connecting the flashlight shell to the wrist strap or band, obviously Imay vary the means of connection within the knowledge of thoseskilled in the art.for example, narrow strips may be used as substitutes for the spring clips 8, or the wrist band may betransversely slotted for interlocking engagement with a single strip or unit which will bind the'flashlight shell in position. In other words, the details'of construction with reference to attaching the flashlight may be indefinitely varied.

Obviously, the flashlight shell .may in some cases be It will be seen that owing to the simple or wrist band, a user of the flashall times have it accessible for use without in any way interfering with the use of either hand, and furthermore, the light is always intact for emergencies.

I claim V The combination of a flashlight having a casing provided with batteries, an attachment therefor for securingthe casing to the wrist with the casing positioned parallel with the wrist, a goose neck extension removably attached to one end of the casing and projecting upwardly and forwardly therefrom at one side of the hand oft-he user, a reflector and a bulb carried in the outer end of said goose neck and so p0: sitioned with respectto the hand of the user whereby to project a ray of light parallel with the axis of the casing, a spring strip substantially secured to the goose neck with one endpof the strip engaging the contact end of the bulb and the other end of the strip contacting with an active unit of the battery.
