Wash-free hot drink cup lid structure
US 20020100757 A1
Abstract
A wash-free hot drink cup lid structure includes a cup body, and a cup lid. The cup lid is secured on the cup body, and has a periphery including a lid rim provided with a folding seam. The lid rim has an outer side provided with a pull tab that may be pulled upward to break the folding seam of the lid rim, so that one end of the cup lid forms a hot drink opening. In such a manner, the cup lid defines a locking slot located adjacent to a central portion of the cup lid, so that when the lid rim of the cup lid is removed from the cup lid, the lid rim may be folded upward to be locked in the locking slot, thereby preventing the user's finger from touching the fluid food contained in the cup body.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a wash-free hot drink cup lid structure, and more particularly to a wash-free hot drink cup lid structure which uses a cup lid having a lid rim that may be folded upward to be directly locked in the locking slot of the cup lid, thereby opening the hot drink opening of the cup lid, without wetting the user's finger, thereby preventing the user's finger from touching the fluid food contained in the cup body.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Prior Art

[0004] A first conventional hot drink cup in accordance with the prior art shown in FIG. 1 comprises a cup body 100, and a cup lid 200. However, the user has to remove the entire cup lid 200 from the cup body 100 for drinking, so that the hot drink easily flows out of the cup body 100 without the cup lid 200 when the hot drink is not drunk up.

[0005] A second conventional hot drink cup in accordance with the prior art shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 comprises a cup body 100, and a cup lid 300. The cup lid 300 includes a folding seam 301, a pull tab 302, a locking recess 303, and a locking block 304. The pull tab 302 may be pulled upward to move toward the locking block 304 so that the locking block 304 may be secured in the locking recess 303, thereby forming a hot drink opening for allowing the user to drink the hot drink food contained in the cup body 100.

[0006] As shown in FIG. 3, the user has to press the back of the locking recess 303 toward the locking block 304. However, the back of the locking recess 303 located in the inner side of the cup lid 300 will touch the fluid food contained in the cup body 100, so that the user's finger will touch the fluid food, thereby wetting or contaminating the user's finger.

[0007] A third conventional hot drink cup in accordance with the prior art shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 comprises a cup body 100, and a cup lid 400. The cup lid 400 includes a circular recess 401, a circular lug 402, and a pull tab 403. The pull tab 403 may be pulled upward to move toward the circular lug 402 so that the circular lug 402 may be secured in the circular recess 401, thereby forming a hot drink opening for allowing the user to drink the hot drink food contained in the cup body 100.

[0008] In operation, the user has to press the back of the circular recess 401 toward the circular lug 402. However, the back of the circular recess 401 located in the inner side of the cup lid 400 will touch the fluid food contained in the cup body 100, so that the user's finger will touch the fluid food, thereby wetting or contaminating the user's finger.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0009] The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the disadvantage of the conventional wash-free hot drink cup lid structure.

[0010] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a wash-free hot drink cup lid structure comprising:

[0011] a cup body, and a cup lid, the cup lid secured on the cup body, the cup lid having a periphery including a lid rim provided with a folding seam, the lid rim having an outer side provided with a pull tab that may be pulled upward to break the folding seam of the lid rim, so that one end of the cup lid forms a hot drink opening;

[0012] the improvement comprising:

[0013] the cup lid defining a locking slot located adjacent to a central portion of the cup lid, so that when the lid rim of the cup lid is removed from the cup lid, the lid rim may be folded upward to be locked in the locking slot, thereby preventing a user's finger from touching the fluid food contained in the cup body.

[0014] In such a manner, the lid rim of the cup lid may be directly locked in the locking slot of the cup lid to open the hot drink opening of the cup lid, without wetting the user's finger, thereby preventing the user's finger from touching the fluid food contained in the cup body.

[0015] Another objective of the present invention is to provide a wash-free hot drink cup lid structure, wherein the cup lid only needs to provide a locking slot without having to additionally provide a lug or a locking block to mate with the locking slot. The user only needs to pull the removed lid rim to be directly locked in the locking slot so as to open the hot drink opening of the cup lid, thereby simplifying the construction of the wash-free hot drink cup lid structure, and thereby decreasing the cost of fabrication of the wash-free hot drink cup lid structure.

[0016] Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0025]FIG. 9 is a schematic operational view of the wash-free hot drink cup lid structure as shown in FIG. 8.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0026] Referring to FIGS. 6-9, a wash-free hot drink cup lid structure in accordance with the present invention comprises a cup body 1, and a cup lid 2 to form a hot drink cup.

[0027] The cup lid 2 is secured on the cup body 1 in a snap manner. The cup lid 2 has a periphery including a lid rim 21 provided with a folding seam 22. The lid rim 21 has an outer side provided with a pull tab 23 that may be pulled upward to break the folding seam 22 of the lid rim 21, so that one end of the cup lid 2 forms a hot drink opening A as shown in FIG. 9.

[0028] The improvement of the present invention is described as follows.

[0029] The cup lid 2 defines a locking slot 24 located adjacent to the central portion of the cup lid 2 and having a configuration mating that of the lid rim 21 of the cup lid 2, so that when the lid rim 21 of the cup lid 2 is removed from the cup lid 2, the lid rim 21 may be folded upward to be directly locked in the locking slot 24 as shown in FIG. 9. In such a manner, the lid rim 21 is not located at the inner side of the bottom of the cup lid 2, so that the lid rim 21 will not touch the fluid food contained in the cup body 1, thereby preventing the user's finger from touching the fluid food contained in the cup body 1 when he pulls the pull tab 23 upward to snap the lid rim 21 into the locking slot 24.

[0030] It is to be noted that, the cup lid 2 needs not to additionally provide a lug or a locking block to be snapped into the locking slot 24. The user only needs to pull the removed lid rim 21 to be directly locked in the locking slot 24 as shown in FIG. 9.

[0031] Preferably, the locking slot 24 of the cup lid 2 is arc-shaped, and the lid rim 21 of the cup lid 2 is arc shaped to mate with the shape of the locking slot 24 of the cup lid 2.

[0032] Accordingly, the wash-free hot drink cup lid structure in accordance with the present invention uses a cup lid having a lid rim that may be folded upward to be directly locked in the locking slot of the cup lid, thereby opening the hot drink opening of the cup lid, without wetting the user's finger.

[0033] Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim(s) will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
