Food container
US 20020125250 A1
Abstract
A food container includes a container box, and a box cover. An annular locking flange formed on the box cover is snapped on the snapping flange formed on the container box. An L-shaped catch ring is located under the snapping flange, and a press plate is extended from the catch ring. A breakable line is connected between the press plate and the catch ring. A plurality of thin posts that are easily broken and removed are connected between the press plate and the wall of the container box. When the press plate is subjected to a pressing force, the press plate is broken to form an opening, thereby facilitating the press plate being bent upward through the opening to urge the bottom of the box cover, such that the box cover can be removed from the container box, thereby opening the food container.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a food container that is tightly sealed to enhance the quality of the food that is contained in the food container, and to prevent the box cover of the food container from being removed from the container box of the food container unintentionally.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Prior Art

[0004] A conventional food container in accordance with the prior art comprises a container body, and a top cover threaded on the container body. The top cover can be rotated relative to the container body by applying a large force on the top cover so as to remove the top cover from the container body. However, the sealing effect of the threaded type structure of the conventional food container is not efficient, thereby greatly affecting the quality of food that is contained in the food container.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the disadvantage of the conventional food container.

[0006] In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a food container comprising:

[0007] a container box, and a box cover mounted on the container box, wherein,

[0008] an annular snapping flange is formed on a top edge of the container box, an L-shaped catch ring is formed on the container box in an annular arranged manner, and is located under the snapping flange, a press plate is formed on an outer periphery of the L-shaped catch ring, and is extended outward therefrom, a breakable line that is easily broken and removed is connected between the press plate and the L-shaped catch ring, a plurality of thin posts that are easily broken and removed are connected between the press plate and a wall face of the container box;

[0009] an annular locking flange is formed on a bottom face of the box cover, and is securely snapped on the snapping flange of the container box;

[0010] when the press plate is subjected to a pressing force, the press plate is broken to form an opening, thereby facilitating the press plate being bent upward through the opening to urge a bottom edge of the box cover, such that the box cover can be removed from the container box, thereby opening the food container.

[0011] Preferably, the bottom edge of the box cover is fully covered in the L-shaped catch ring and the press plate.

[0012] Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0013]FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a food container in accordance with the present invention;

[0014]FIG. 2 is a partially cut-away front plan cross-sectional view of the food container as shown in FIG. 1;

[0015]FIG. 3 is a top plan view of the food container as shown in FIG. 1;

[0016]FIG. 4 is an operational view of the food container as shown in FIG. 1;

[0017]FIG. 5 is an operational view of the food container as shown in FIG. 3;

[0018]FIG. 6 is an operational view of the food container as shown in FIG. 2; and

[0019]FIG. 7 is a schematic exploded view of the food container, wherein the box cover is removed from the container box.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0020] Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-3, a food container in accordance with the present invention comprises a container box 10 made of plastic material, and a box cover 20 mounted on the container box 10.

[0021] An annular snapping flange 16 is formed on the top edge of the container box 10. An annular locking flange 21 is formed on the bottom face of the box cover 20, and is securely snapped on the snapping flange 16 of the container box 10.

[0022] An L-shaped catch ring 11 is formed on the container box 10 in an annular arranged manner, and is located under the snapping flange 16. A press plate 12 is formed on the outer periphery of the L-shaped catch ring 11, and is extended outward therefrom. Preferably, the bottom edge 23 of the box cover 20 is fully covered in the L-shaped catch ring 11 and the press plate 12.

[0023] A breakable line 14 that is easily broken and removed is connected between the press plate 12 and the L-shaped catch ring 11. A plurality of thin posts 13 that are easily broken and removed are connected between the press plate 12 and the wall face of the container box 10. In such a manner, the press plate 12 forms a hollow connecting structure, such that the press plate 12 is easily broken and removed by a pressing action, thereby in turn breaking the L-shaped catch ring 11 to form an opening 15 as shown in FIG. 4.

[0024] Referring to FIGS. 1-7, when the press plate 12 is subjected to a pressing force, the press plate 12 is broken from the broken line 14 and the thin posts 13 to form an opening 15 as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, thereby facilitating the press plate 12 being bent upward through the opening 15 whereby the user can press and urge the bottom edge 23 of the box cover 20 to move outward as shown in FIG. 6, such that the box cover 20 can be removed from the container box 10 as shown in FIG. 7, thereby opening the food container.

[0025] In practice, the annular locking flange 21 formed on the bottom face of the box cover 20 is securely snapped on the snapping flange 16 of the container box 10, thereby securing the box cover 20 on the container box 10 so that the food container in accordance with the present invention can be tightly sealed. In addition, the bottom edge 23 of the box cover 20 is fully covered in the L-shaped catch ring 11 and the press plate 12, whereby the bottom edge 23 of the box cover 20 is separated and protected efficiently, and cannot be bent by an external force such that box cover 20 is securely mounted on and cannot be removed from the container box 10, thereby forming a complete sealing effect of the food container, and thereby preventing the food container from being opened unintentionally.

[0026] If the user wishes to open the food container, he can exert a pressing force on the press plate 12 of the L-shaped catch ring 11 to break the press plate 12 to form the opening 15, whereby the user can bend and lift the bottom edge 23 of the box cover 20, such that the box cover 20 can be removed from the container box 10 as shown in FIG. 7, thereby opening the food container.

[0027] While the preferred embodiment of the present invention has been shown and described, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications may be made in the embodiment without departing from the spirit of the present invention. Such modifications are all within the scope of the present invention.
