Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a display package, and more particularly to a display package that is suitable for small-sized accessories, can efficiently hold a small-sized accessory in position and has a neat appearance.

2. Description of Related Art

Conventional display packages on the market are substantially cataloged in one of the following three types.

1. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) package: the PVC package accommodates small-sized accessories, is usually a flat bag and has a paper card inside the flat bag. The flat bag is soft and transparent. When the paper card is inserted into the flat bag, the flat bag is extended by the paper card to maintain a certain shape. The paper cards further have logos, pictures or information printed on the paper card to inform consumers and to enhance the attractiveness of the package. The accessories are usually placed inside the flat bag in front of the paper cards. However, the accessories slide inside the flat bag, sometimes cover the information on the paper card and even puncture the flat bag because the PVC package does not have a device to hold the accessories in position. Some manufacturers have modified the PVC package by thermally attaching the flat PVC bag to the card to limit movement of the enclosed accessory. However, thermally attaching the flat bag to the paper card easily wrinkles the unattached bag. Therefore, the thermally modified PVC package has poor quality in appearance and a higher manufacturing cost.

2. Casing package: the casing package is composed of two symmetrical half bodies and has a cavity corresponding to the accessory after the two half bodies are assembled. Each half body is transparent and rigid so the accessory is visible and stably held inside the cavity. Although the accessory is held securely in position and the appearance of the casing package is neat, the casing package is expensive to manufacture and occupies more space when stored after the half bodies are fabricated.

3. Suspension clip: the suspension clip directly holds an accessory in a stable position and can be hung on a rack. However, the suspension clip does not have a cover to protect the accessory. The accessory is exposed to ambient humidity and airborne dust and dirt, easily becomes dusty and dirty and possibly corrodes. Moreover, the suspension clip does not have the capability to display information and attract consumers.

The present invention has arisen to mitigate or obviate the disadvantages of the conventional display packages.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the present invention is to provide a display package that has a neat appearance and can efficiently hold a small-sized accessory in position.

To achieve the foregoing objective, the display package in accordance with the present invention comprises a bag, a positioning template and a hanging attachment.

The bag has an inner space, a front face, a rear face, a closed top edge, an open bottom edge, a sealing flap and at least one transparent area. The sealing flap is formed on the open bottom edge, and the at least one transparent area is defined on one or both of the front and rear faces.

The positioning template is mounted inside the bag and has a top edge and an accessory cutout defined in the positioning template to correspond to an accessory to be displayed inside the bag. The accessory is mounted in and held in place by the positioning template. Furthermore, the positioning template keeps the bag from losing its shape so the display package has a neat appearance.

The hanging attachment is attached to the closed top edge of the bag to allow the display package to be hung on a hook, rod or the like to display the enclosed accessory.

Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate references to the accompanying drawings.

A display package in accordance with the present invention to accommodate a small-sized accessory comprises a bag, a positioning template and a hanging attachment. The bag has an inner space, a front face, a rear face, a closed top edge, an open bottom edge, a through hole, a sealing flap and at least one transparent area. The through hole is defined near the top edge of the bag. The sealing flap is formed on one of the faces at the open bottom edge, and the at least one transparent area is defined on one or both of the front and rear faces. The positioning template is mounted inside the inner space of the bag and has a top edge and an accessory cutout to correspond to the accessory to be displayed inside the bag. Furthermore, the positioning template keeps the bag from losing its shape so the display package has a neat appearance. The hanging attachment is attached to the closed top edge of the bag and has a body with a panel, a connector and an optional hanger or a suspension hole. The connector is attached to the body, passes through the through hole in the bag, clamps the bag near the closed top edge and has a connector tube and a clamp. The optional hanger or the suspension hole makes the display package suspendible.

With reference to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, a first preferred embodiment of the display package in accordance with the present invention comprises a bag (10), a positioning template (20) and a hanging attachment (30).

The bag (10) is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), may be transparent, is a flat container and has a front face, a rear face, an inner space, a closed top edge, an open bottom edge, a sealing flap (11), an optional fastening strip (12) and a through hole (13). The sealing flap (11) extends from one face at the open bottom edge. Preferably, the sealing flap (11) has a distal end, two sides and two notches (112). The two notches (112) are defined respectively on the two sides at the distal end to form two ears (114). The fastening strip (12) is attached to the face opposite to the sealing flap (11). The display package is closed by folding the sealing flap (11) toward the opposite face, sliding the distal end between the fastening strip (12) and the corresponding face and hooking the ears (114) onto the fastening strip (12). Thereby, opening and closing the display package are convenient and easy. The through hole (13) is defined near the top edge of the transparent bag (10). Selectively, when the bag (10) is not transparent, at least one window, i.e. the transparent area, is formed in the front face, the rear face or both faces to reveal the accessory inside the bag (10).

The positioning template (20) is semirigid, is mounted in the inner space of the bag (10) and has a top edge, a bottom edge, an accessory cutout (21) and an optional edge cutout (23). The accessory cutout (21) is defined at the bottom edge and shaped to correspond partially or completely to the accessory (50). For the purpose of illustration only, a small pair of scissors is shown in the figures. Thereby, the accessory (50) can be partially or completely engaged with the accessory cutout (21) and kept stable by the positioning template (20) when the accessory (50) is inside the transparent bag (10). Selectively, the accessory cutout (21) can be defined within the positioning template (20) or defined to extend to edges of the positioning template (20). Moreover, additional logos, pictures or information can be printed on the positioning template (20). The optional edge cutout (23) is defined at the top edge of the positioning template (20) to align with the through hole (13) in the bag (10).

The hanging attachment (30) is attached to the top edge of the bag (10) and corresponds to the closed top edge of the bag (10). A first embodiment of the hanging attachment (30) has a body, a connector and a hanger. The body is shaped into a top beam (35) has a front edge, a rear edge, a zenith, two distal ends, a front panel (31), two tabs (36), a recess (37) and a lower protrusion. The front panel (31) extends downward from the front edge of the top beam (35), and the lower protrusion extends from the front panel (31). With further reference to FIGS. 4 and 5, the two tabs (36) are formed on the rear edge respectively at the two distal ends of the top beam (35) and extend toward each other. Therefore, the top beam (35), the two tabs (36) and the front panel (31) define the recess (37) within the hanging attachment (30) to hold the closed top edge of the bag (10) and the positioning template (20). The connector is formed on the lower protrusion and has a connector (32) and a clamp (33). The connector (32) is formed on the lower protrusion and penetrates the through hole (13) in the bag (10) and the edge cutout (23) in the positioning template (20). The clamp (33) engages the connector (32) to firmly attach the hanging attachment (30) to the bag (10). The hanger comprises an upper protrusion (34) formed at and extending up from the zenith of the top beam (35) and has a suspension hole (342) defined through the upper protrusion (34). The hanging attachment (30) holds the top edge of the bag (10) to keep the bag (10) smooth and neat in appearance. Moreover, the front panel (31) can further have some logos to catch consumers' attention.

With reference to FIG. 6, a second preferred embodiment of the hanging attachment (30A) has a body, a connector, a clamp (now shown) and a suspension hole. The body is also shaped into the top beam (35A). The top beam (35A) of the second embodiment is virtually the same as the top beam (35) in the first embodiment so redundant description has been omitted. The connector and the clamp are the same as the ones in the first embodiment. However, the lower protrusion (32A) has the connector (not shown) protruding from a rear face of the lower protrusion (32A). The suspension hole (322A) is axially defined through the lower protrusion to make the display package suspensible.

With reference to FIG. 7, a third preferred embodiment of the hanging attachment (30B) has a body, a connector, a clamp (33B) and a hanger (344B), which forms a substantially swan-like shape. The body is a panel (31B) shaped like a swan's body and has a rear face. The connector and the clamp (33B) are the same as the ones in the first embodiment. The connector is formed on and extends from the rear face of the panel (31B). The hanger (344B) is shaped like a swan's neck and head and is formed as a hook that extends from the panel (31B).

With reference to FIG. 8, a fourth preferred embodiment of the hanging attachment (30C) has a body, a connector, a clamp and a hanger. The body is substantially an oval panel (31C) and a tag (38C). The oval panel (31C) has a front face, a rear face, a top and a tag recess (312C). The tag recess (312C) is defined in the front face. The tag (38C) is mounted in the tag recess (312C) and selectively has some logos or trademarks printed on the tag (38C) for advertisement. The connector (not shown) and the clamp (33C) are the same as the ones in the first embodiment. The connector is formed on the rear face of the oval panel (31C) and is connected to the bag with the clamp (33) in the same manner as described previously. The hanger comprises an upper protrusion (34C) and a suspension hole (342C). The upper protrusion (34C) is formed at and extends up from the top of the oval panel (31C). The suspension hole (342C) is defined through the upper protrusion (34C).

The display package as described has the following advantages.

1. The positioning template with the accessory cutout keeps the shape of the bag, holds the accessory in place and logos and further shows pictures or information to be printed on the positioning template. Therefore, the display package has a neat appearance.

2. The accessory enclosed in the display package is mounted in the accessory cutout on the positioning template to hold the accessory securely inside the display package. Therefore, the accessory does not block any information on the positioning template so potential consumers can read the information completely to enhance purchasing will. Moreover, the bag is not easily broken because the potential for the accessory to puncture the bag is greatly reduced.

3. Folding the flap and hooking it on the fastening strip conveniently closes the transparent bag. Therefore, the display package does not need other engaging means such as a zipper or button to close the open bottom edge of the bag. Hence, the manufacturing cost of the display package is kept low.

4. The hanging attachment allows the display package to hang on racks to conveniently display accessories.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiments, many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
