Abstract

A jackpot game having game cards, markers, call numbers, checking chart and dispenser. Jackpot game cards have a grid of seven rows of seven squares each or 49 squares in all and a free play square in the middle of the grid. The letters J-A-C-K-P-O-T appear above this grid with a letter heading each vertical column. Each jackpot game card has different randomly chosen numbers printed within the grid so that no two cards have the same set of numbers.

Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to games like Bingo and more particularly, to a new longer playing, more enjoyable game.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Many types of Bingo games exist. They are generally entertaining and occasionally serve to teach the players speed and hand eye coordination skills. However, each Bingo game generally doesn't last very long before a bingo is achieved by a player. Once a player achieves a Bingo, all players must stop and start a new game.
  • There is a need for an improved longer playing Bingo style game, which is entertaining and educational for the players but also helps to enhance the mental speed of the player, as well as their skills of observation and memory. The game should teach the players hand and eye coordination skills, while lasting long enough so the players stay interested and have an enjoyable experience. Bingo games are usually over quickly because of only 5 letters and 75 numbers. The length of playtime for this new game is increased with a total of 7 letters and 105 numbers.
  • It is therefore an object of the invention to . . . provide a new version of the old game Bingo.
  • It is an object of the invention to provide a game that plays similar to Bingo but lasts longer through more letters and numbers.
  • It is a further object of the invention to provide a new version and a new life to an old game that players will already understand how to play.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention is directed to a jackpot game, which satisfies these needs. The jackpot game consists of game cards, a plurality of call numbers, a plurality of markers and a checking chart.
  • The game cards have a header where the name of the game JACKPOT is printed. The game cards have a grid of 49 squares under the header. This is where the players place markers on a number according to the number and letter that is announced by the designated caller.
  • During the playing of the game each player picks a game card or cards and markers. A person designated as the caller randomly picks a call number from a box and announces that number and letter to all the players. Any player that has a number and letter on they're card(s) that matches the call number, places a marker on they're card(s) accordingly.

  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • FIG. 1 is a front view of a game cards 18.

  • FIG. 3 is a front view of a markers 44.
  • FIG. 4 is a front view of a checking chart 46.

  • The preferred embodiment of the jackpot game comprises of game cards 18, markers 44, call numbers 28, checking chart 46, and dispenser box. The game cards 18 bear a printed grid 22 of seven rows of seven squares each or 49 squares in all. The letters J-A-C-K-P-O-T appear above this grid 22, with a letter heading each vertical column, as shown in FIG. 1.
  • A random number between 1 and 105 is printed in every square except the center one, which is a free play 20. Corresponding to the letters and numbers on the cards are 105 call numbers 28. On each of the call numbers 28 are numbers and a single letter that make-up the word jackpot, as shown in FIG. 2. From a dispenser box, the designated caller randomly picks one of the call numbers 28 one at a time and announces the letter and number appearing on the call number.
  • The object of the game is to get a jackpot. A player can get a jackpot by covering a row of numbers on a game card in at least one of three directions, horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
  • NOTE; there are several other possible combinations in which a player can get a jackpot. The designated caller chooses the winning jackpot combination before the start of each game. Here are a few examples of winning jackpots; covering all four corners, covering all the squares around the free play 20, covering all the outside corners and covering the entire grid 22 of squares (also known as a blackout).
  • The first step to play the game is for all players to pick at least one game card, as shown in FIG. 1. The card(s) are then placed on a table in front of you, then make sure you have plenty of markers 44 (as shown in FIG. 3) for placing on the numbers of the card(s). Once all players are ready and you have a designated person as the caller, the caller then randomly picks one of the call numbers 28 from a dispenser box and announces it to all players. The players then place one of the markers 44 on their card(s) that match the letter and number the caller announces. For example, if the call number announced is K 51, the caller says “K, fifty-one,” then places the call number on it's matching (K51) place on the checking chart 46, as shown in FIG. 4.
  • Any player having 51 (under letter K) on his/her card(s) covers that number with one of the markers 44. Play continues in this manner until a player calls out “Jackpot” to signal that he/she has covered a complete row of seven numbers, horizontally, vertically, diagonally or in one of the other possible jackpot combinations designated by the caller.
  • Players obtain game cards 18 with numbers on them in a 7×7 grid 22 corresponding to the seven letters in the word J-A-C-K-P-O-T appearing above the grid 22. The game cards 18 have a grid 22 that contains 48 numbered squares and one free play 20 in the center of the grid 22 for a total of 49 squares. Each of these letters that form the name of the game J-A-C-K-P-O-T belongs to each of the seven columns; each column has seven rows of numbers.
  • There are one hundred five (105) numbers used in game cards 18.
  • There are seven groups with fifteen numbers in each group.
  • These groups are:
  • Call number J with a range of 1-15 30,
  • Call number A with a range of 16-30 32,
  • Call number C with a range of 31-45 34,
  • Call number K with a range of 46-60 36,
  • Call number P with a range of 61-75 38,
  • Call number O with a range of 76-90 40,
  • Call number T with a range of 91-105 42.
  • Each game is completed when one or more players attain a jackpot to win the game, as shown in FIGS. 5, 6, 7 and 8. After each completed game, players leave all markers 44 in place until the person(s) that called out “Jackpot” has his/her card checked.
  • To check a game card the player(s) that called out “Jackpot” reads back to the caller the numbers that are covered on their game card and the caller checks them against the checking chart 46, as shown in FIG. 4. If the player's card(s) are correct, he/she is a winner. If a card is not correct, play continues until a player attains a jackpot.
  • If two or more players call out “Jackpot” at the same time and their card(s) are correct, each player with a jackpot wins. At the end of each game, the players clear they're game cards 18 of all markers 44 before starting the next game, then players either keep their game cards 18 or exchange them for different cards.
  • Since other modifications and changes varied to fit particular operating requirements and environments will be apparent to those skilled in the art, the invention is not considered limited to the example chosen for purposes of disclosure, and covers all changes and modifications which do not constitute departures from the true spirit and scope of this invention.
  • Having thus described the invention, what is desired to be protected by Letters Patent is presented in the subsequently appended claims.

Claims (11)

1. A jackpot game, comprising:
means for placing markers on the numbers.
2. The jackpot game in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for placing markers on the numbers comprises a numbered squares grid.
3. A jackpot game, comprising:
a numbered squares grid, for placing markers on the numbers.
4. The jackpot game as recited in claim 3, further comprising:
a game cards, for providing a playing area.
5. The jackpot game as recited in claim 3, further comprising:
a markers, for marking the numbers on a game card, temporarily placed to said game cards.
6. The jackpot game as recited in claim 3, further comprising:
a checking chart, for keeping track of each call number after it's announced to the players for checking accuracy once a player gets a jackpot, generally linked to said game cards.
7. The jackpot game as recited in claim 4, further comprising:
a markers, for marking the numbers on a game card, temporarily placed to said game cards.
8. The jackpot game as recited in claim 4, further comprising:
a checking chart, for keeping track of each call number after it's announced to the players for checking accuracy once a player gets a jackpot, generally linked to said game cards.
9. The jackpot game as recited in claim 5, further comprising:
a checking chart, for keeping track of each call number after it's announced to the players for checking accuracy once a player gets a jackpot, generally linked to said game cards.
10. The jackpot game as recited in claim 7, further comprising:
a checking chart, for keeping track of each call number after it's announced to the players for checking accuracy once a player gets a jackpot, generally linked to said game cards.
11. A jackpot game, comprising:
a game cards, for providing a playing area;
a numbered squares grid, for placing markers on the numbers;
a markers, for marking the numbers on a game card, temporarily placed to said game cards; and
a checking chart, for keeping track of each call number after it's announced to the players for checking accuracy once a player gets a jackpot, generally linked to said game cards.
