Description
- 1. Field of Invention
- The present invention relates to a wall mounted back scratching sponge and soap dispensing device.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Wall mounted personal hygiene products are well known in the prior art. Several wall-mounted devices have been disclosed in various patents. Such as U.S. Pat. No. 6,370,722, Duckworth, where Duckworth discloses a wall mounted back scrubbing and massaging apparatus that is mounted on a wall with a sponge attached to the outer surface of the scrubbing/massaging device. These scrubbing and massaging devices provide a means for an individual to provide unassisted scrubbing and cleaning of their back while in the shower. Another example of a wall mounted back scrubber is disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,774,907, Doggwiler, where Doggwiler discloses a shower wall back scrubber and massager is attachable to a shower wall and fluidly connected to the shower head.
- The two examples above provide existing back scrubbers in the prior art however additional improvements to the current personal hygiene for use in a shower are definitely available.
- The present invention relates to a back scrubber for a shower enclosure comprising: a base, where the base includes a means to adhere a back side of the base to a shower wall; a soap dispenser, where the soap dispenser is integrated into a top edge of the base; and a sponge, where the sponge attaches to a front of the base just below the soap dispenser. The means to adhere may include an adhesive across the back side of the base or alternatively a plurality of suction cups. The present invention further includes a method of placement of the back scrubber into the shower enclosure.
-
FIG. 1 depicts a base and sponge attachment used in conjunction with a back scratching device in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 2 shows an alternative configuration of the back scratching device in accordance with the present invention. - The present invention relates to a back scrubbing sponge device that is mounted to a wall of a shower enclosure. The back scratching device according to present invention includes a base that removably attaches to the wall of a shower enclosure. The base supports a sponge that is attached to the base for use as the scrubbing and cleansing device. The base further includes a soap dispensing compartment that dispenses soap directly into the sponge that is mounted onto the base. On the rear portion of the base, suction cups may be used to mount the device onto the wall.
- In reference to
FIG. 1 , aBase 40 with theSoap Dispenser 42 is depicted. TheBase 40 is shown in two variations inFIG. 1 . A first variation includes a CurvedBottom Edge 43 that accommodates the Sponge 52.Sponge 50 attaches onto a rectangular edge embodiment shown inFIG. 1 . Asoap dispenser 42 is provided at the top edge of theBase 40 that dispenses soap directly into Sponge 50 once it is joined to theBase 40. TheBase 40 includes an adhesive or similar substance placed upon the rear side of the base and enables the attachment of the base to the wall of a shower enclosure. Once theBase 40 is attached to wall the Sponge 50 or Sponge 52 may be placed over thebase 40 to allow for the massaging/scrubbing of an individuals' back. - The
Container 42 dispenses soap through openings, not shown, just above the top edge of the sponge. During use the sponge receives moisture and soap interacting with the sponge so as to provide a soapy scrubbing surface for the user. Sponge 50 and Sponge 52 depict various sponge configurations that may be used with the present invention. - In reference to
FIG. 2 an alternative embodiment of the present invention is depicted. This alternative embodiment includes aBase 40 that includes a plurality of Suction Cups 45 along with the backside of aBase 40. These suction cups provide a means to adhere theBase 40 to the shower wall enclosure. On the reverse side of the Base 40 a Sponge 52 provides the soapy spongy surface for use by the user. ASoap Dispenser 42 is provided above the SpongeArea 52. - This back scratching sponge device provides a variety of sponges used with the base that is directly on the wall of a shower enclosure. The present device allows the consumer to interchange various sponges that have different textures in accordance with the user's needs. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
