2 Claims.

The invention relates to forms especially for bouquets and other articles where display is desirable or advantageous. In' bouquets the eilect thereof will be materially enhanced by brilliant 5 areas or spots among the flowers and other decorations therein; and it is the object of our invention to provide a form upon which a bouquet may be constructed and on which means is provided by which illuminated areas or spots are obtained and having the eiect of brilliants or jewels.

Another object is to provide a bouquet form in which means is provided by which the carrier may illuminate her person if she desires.

Other objects and advantages will appear hereinafter.

An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing in which Figure 1 is a front elevation of the form. Fig.

2 is a side elevation of the same, partly in section and Fig. 3 is a vertical cross-section of the form. Y.

In the illustration embodiment of the invention the form consists of a hollow body I of suitable material and in selected shape and design to suit the particular use, the body I being adapted primarily for a brides bouquet. The body l is preferably flat on the rear side in the lower part of which an opening 2 may be formed. The forward side of the body is preferably convex. A hollow stem 3 depends from the body and forms a. handle by which the article may be carried. The

stem also serves as a receptacle in which to house the electric battery I. A lamp socket 5 is suitably installed in the body and in the entrance 'to the stem where it may be engaged by the battery for illuminating the electric lamp 8. A reilector 'I surrounds the lamp socket by which the light rays from the bulb, are projected upwardly to 4o illuminate the interior of the body. The lower end of the stem is closed by a threaded cap which may be tightened to place tension on the spring l and cause the battery to contact the socket I and close its circuit through the bulb.

Any suitable transparent members, as the glass rods l are extended through the wall of the body l at .selected points thereof. The inner end of each rod is positioned so that it will beilluminated by the light rays projected by the bulb and the reilector. The exposed or projecting end of each rod is of selected length and the peripheral surface of the same is covered or coated with an opaque substance or material to cause said wall to be impervious to light. 'I'he transverse wall at the outer end is uncoated or uncovered 5 and it may be given any form or shape, or it may be decorative. 'Ihe opaque wall of the outer projecting end of each wall is not illuminated but the outer extremity is illuminated. Flowers and other decorations are secured to the body and 10 about the projecting rods to form the desired bouquet andthe illuminated extremities of the rods appear as illuminated points or spots in the bouquet, adding greatly to the effectiveness of the article. The carrier may so hold the bouquet l5 that some of the light rays will pass through the opening 2 and cast a sheen over her person.

'I'he heat generated within the body is not sufflcient to affect the life of the floral decorations materially. 20

Any suitable means by which to connect the battery to the bulb will suiilce, the means shown in the drawing being illustrative only.

'I'he form may be used for a variety of purposes, hence we do not wish to be limited to that 25 y of a bouquet.

What we claim is:

l. A bouquet form comprising a hollow body having a depending hollow handle and having an opening in its rear wall, a battery in the handle. 30 an electric lamp within the body and adapted to be connected to the battery, the electric lamp being adapted to illuminate the interior of the body and the person carrying it, and a plurality of light conducting and reilecting members ex- 35 tended through the body the exposed portion of each member being peripherally opaque.

2. .A hollow body having an opening in its rear wall. an electric lamp in the hollow body for illuminating the interior thereof and adapted to 40 illuminate the person carrying said body, and a plurality of glass rods in the body and projecting through the wall thereof,- the inner ends. of the rods being extended toward the lampand the portion of the rods exteriorly oi' the body having 45 their peripheral faces opaque with the outer end wall clear.
