Be it known that l, OSCAR. KLEINBERGER, of the cit-y., county, and State ot' New York, have invented a. new and lu'iprovedv lllaterial for Suspenderl Straps or Ends, ot' which the following is a speeitieation.

The object ot' my invention is to furnish a material as a substitute for leather t'or suspender Straps or ends, which material shall be strong, ilexible, and ornamental, and much cheaper than leather, which is generally used for the purpose.

The invention consists in a. nntterial made et (luck, muslin, or other woven tl'rbric, {"aeed with oil-cloth, the two being; attached together, with or without a. tiller, in u. solid compact sheet, from which the ends and other portions are afterward cut.

In carrying out my invention l malte use ot' heavy duck, muslin7 or other woven fabric, and light oil-cloth, which has a body ot' thin mus! liu, and may be ornamented as desired. vl'or a iilling, when a heavier materia-l is required, l use paper or coa-rse cloth. These materials are laid together .n sheets, attached by glue or other adhesive substance, and l'ormed int-o a solid compact sheet by pressure applied by rollers or otherwise. The duck or muslin forms the back otI the sheet and the oil-cloth the face. From this sheetl the suspender ends, tips, backs, 85e., are cut and attached to the susl'iender in the usual manner.

This material is strong` and durable, and has the. required llexibilitgY and other elmracteristics ot leathernecessaigv lor the purpose,wl1i1e beingl much cheaper than leather.
