SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 230,289, dated July 20, 1880,

Application tiled April 28, 1880. (Model.) Patented in France February 21, 1880, in Belgium February 22!, 1880, and in England February 23, 1880.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, CHARLES LAFFITE, of Paris, France, have invented an Improvement in Pantaloon-Braees, of which the following is a specification.

Theim'ention consists in providing the suspenderends with short transverse straps or chains, as hereinafter described.

Figures 1, 2, 3 of the drawings show the front end of suspenders; and Fig. 4, the rear end with my improvement.

In the drawings, A represents the hands or straps which pass over the shoulders and are provided in front with a loop, B, and in the rear with a fold, F. I take a chain or cord, (J, which is provided at each end with a button. D, or a detachable pin, K, or a hook, E, or a double-head button, L, and pass it through the loop B or fold F, so as to connect by button-holes M with the belt G of the pantaloons.

N is a cross chain or cord, by which I con nect the two sides of the part 0, and thus prevent too much play, as well as the slipping through the loop.
