This invention relates to a plastic loose-leaf memorandum sheet holder which is designed to hold a pack of loose memorandum sheets with the edge of the top sheet projecting beyond the edge of the lower sheets so that the sheets may be removed, one at a time, for memorandum purposes.
A feature resides in a simple, attractive holder which ordinarily may be placed on the users desk in a convenient place where the sheets may be readily engaged at any time.
A further feature resides in providing a twopiece plastic loose-leaf memorandum sheet holder, wherein the base portion provides the holder in which the sheets loosely rest and the cover member extends over a portion of the top sheets and acts as a means of covering one end of the sheets. The cover member also acts as a plate on which indicia may be printed or impressed, such as advertising subject matter or a person's name, as may be desired.
It is also featured to provide a cover member formed separate from the base member when the base and cover are made of plastic material or out of other material, and .to provide the cover member with a depending flange member, the lower end of which projects through openings the base. When it is desired the cover member may be secured to the base member by cementing or riveting the lower end of the flange members which project through the bottom of the base member so that the base member and the cover are secured together.
A further feature of my loose-leaf memorandum sheet holder resides in the angular positioning of the sheets. The inner ends of the sheets are adapted to bear against the inclined edge of the flange members of the cover. The outer ends of the sheets are adapted to bear against the inclined inner edges of the upwardly projecting flanges formed on the base.

Figure 1 is a, perspective view of my plastic loose-leaf memorandum sheet holder, with a pack of loose memorandum sheets therein.

A pack of loose sheets are adapted to be normally held in the holder A, as illustrated in Figure 1. When the sheets are held in this manner they may be lifted one at a time out of the holder A and used for memorandum purposes.
The holder A is designed to provide a desk piece which will contain memorandum sheets in position to be readily removed from the holder. Furthermore, the holder A provides a convenient and attractive desk holder for loose memorandum sheets so that as the sheets are used up a new pack of sheets may be inserted within the holder A.
It is a primary feature to provide the holder A in two main parts, namely, the base HI and the cover 'I I. In making this holder A it is desirable that the same be made out of plastic, such as cellulose acetate or other similar material which may be readily molded in a die to form the respective parts complete and finished with a high polish on the surface of the same. Usually these plastic parts are formed by injection molding.
The base it? is formed with a floor portion 13, side walls is, and an inclined end wall l5. Projecting upwardly from the front of the floor 1.3 I provide a pair of flanges Iii which are formed with an inclined front edge ll which act to engage the edges of the sheets 12 in the holder A. Holes 18 are formed in the floor l3 of the base which are adapted to receive lugs formed on the cover portion. The base ill, including the floor l3, the side walls i l, the end l5 and the flanges I6, is formed integral. This is readily possible when the plastic base portion is molded in a die.
The cover H includes the top plate It! with depending flanges 20 on either side of the same. The flanges 2B are formed with lugs 2| on the lower end of the flanges. The lugs 2| are adapted to extend through the holes !3 and permit the cover H to be anchored to the base by riveting the lugs 2! or by cementing them to the floor [3 by an acetone solvent or any similar solvent that will cement the plastic members toether.
The inner edges 22 of the flanges Eil act as gauge members to position the inner ends of the sheets [2 when they are held in the holder A. Thus the inclined edges 57 and 22 act as gauge members to position the sheets I 2 with the upper sheet projecting beyond the edges of the lower sheets to thus permit the easy engagement of one sheet at a time from the pack of sheets B.
A further feature of importance in the design and structure of my memorandum sheet holder resides in forming the base It and the cover It separately when they are molded. This simpli fies the die for making the memorandum sheet ished whenever it is desirable. In this manner I provide an economical, attractive desk utility which forms a means of holding loose memorandum sheets.
1. A memorandum sheet holder formed in two parts, a cover portion, depending flanges formed on said cover portion, a tray member forming a base portion, holes in said base portion for receiving the lower ends of said flanges formed on said cover to secure said base and cover together, said side walls on said base portion having their top edges arcuated from said cover to the floor of said base portion to form an open front to said base portion to expose memorandum sheets contained therein and parallel gauge means forwardly inclined for holding the front free edge of the memorandum sheets inclined with the topmost sheet projecting forward beyond the lowermost sheet.
2. A memorandum sheet holder, including "an open tray portion adapted to form the base of said holder, a plate-like cover member for one end of said base portion secured to said base portion and inclined narrow flanges spaced apart on said base portion and said cover, the inclined surfaces of which are parallel to each other to hold a pack of loose leaf memorandum sheets in a forwardly inclined position between said flanges.
3. A loose-leaf memorandum sheet holder formed of plastic material, including a tray-like base portion With an open front end, thin flange means projecting from the floor of the said base, forming a gauge means for holding the memorandum sheets inclined forwardly, and a cover member for the inner end of the sheets having means projecting to the floor of the tray and inclined in parallel relation to the gauge means at the front of the tray.
4. A two-piece plastic loose-leaf memorandum sheet holder, including a base portion, a floor in said base portion, side and end walls projecting upwardly from said floor, flange guage members projecting upwardly from the front of said floor having inner forwardly inclined edges engaging memorandum sheets and a cover at the rear end of said base portion formed separately therefrom and having a pair of depending flanges which are sealed and secured to said floor to hold said cover rigid, said depending flanges on said cover having inclined edges parallel to said inner inclined edges of said flanged guage members to hold the memorandum sheets between said paralleled edges.
5. A loose-leaf memorandum sheet holder, including a body portion formed as a tray open at the front and top thereof, a floor portion, side walls projecting upwardly from said floor, an end wall closing the back end of the tray, upward- 1y projecting spaced apart flange gauge members having backwardly inclined edges against which said loose memorandum sheets are adapted to rest, and a cover member having forwardly inclined edges on a pair of flanges, which edges are parallel to said backwardly inclined edges on said gauge members, and which pair of flanges depends from the bottomof said cover and is secured to said bottom of said tray to fix said cover to said floor portion.
