This invention relates to an ornamental device for Christmas trees and other decorative purposes.

The principal purpose of my invention is to provide a light reflecting ornamental device with means to make light sparkle or be otherwise beautiful, and which can be attached to a Christmas tree or other object and there maintained in a conspicuous position.

A further object is to make such a device of parts that are simple and easy to assemble and put in place on a Christmas tree or otherwise supported.

The foregoing and other objects which will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, may be accomplished by a construction, combination and arrangement of parts such as is disclosed by the drawings. The nature of the invention is such as to render it susceptible to various changes and modifications, and, therefore, I am not to be limited to the construction disclosed by the drawings nor to the particular parts described in the specification; but am entitled to all such changes therefrom as fall within the scope of my claims.

Figure 1 is a front elevational view of my ornamental lighting device.

Figure 2 is a sectional view taken on the line 22 of Figure 1.

Figure 3 is a perspective view of a connector plug used in my device.

Figure 4 is a sectional view taken on the line 44 of Figure 2 and Figure 5 is a sectional view taken on the line 5-5 of Figure 2.

Figure 6 is a perspective view of a fan wheel used in my device.

As illustrated, my device has a reflector 42, preferably dish-shaped, the inner surface of which is chromium plated or otherwise made bright and preferably is faceted as at M. Said reflector l2 has two sockets l6 extending forwardly therefrom and has a cut-out i! at its lower edge.

A connecting plug l8 has two rear legs 20 that fit into said sockets l6. Also it has a socket holder portion 22 that is split as at 23, a semi- 4 Claims. (cram-'10) circular, tubular portion 24 below said holder and two front legs 26.

Supported by said plug 18 is a member adapted to provide heat and light which is shown in the form of a lamp socket 28 that fits in said holder portion 22. .Screw threadedly connected to said socket 28 a usual electric light bulb at, which may be colored, is held, and illuminated by electricity flowing through it from wires 32 connected thereto. Clipped on said bulb 30 is a wire clip 34'to'which a pointed member 36 is attached and extends upwardlyand on which a rotatable .fan wheel 40 isrota-tably mounted. Said fan wheel 40 has a recessed portion 42 in the center into which the sharp point of said pointed member 36 extends, The heated airrising fromsaid electric light bulb 30 impinges upon thevanes of said fan wheel 40 and since the vanes are bent to provide angular portions or edges common to such fans, said pin wheel rotates while said bulb is lighted, thereby throwing light beams or rays from said bulb onto said reflector l 2 in rapid succession. Said pin wheel vanes may be colored as by painting the to surfaces red and the lower surfaces green, or some other colors may be used, which cause bright colors to appear and disappear on said reflector I2 as said fan wheel rotates.

My device may have a front member 44, pref-- erably partly rounded, and flaring outwardly from front to rear. It extends high enough to partly or wholly conceal said bulb 30 and fan wheel 40 and serves a decorative purpose as well. At the top it has a cut-out 46 for said bulb 30 to extend into and an intermediate opening 48 that is defined at the bottom by a ledge or base portion 50. Said front member 44 has a semi-circular tubular portion 52 at the bottom which, together with said semi-circular tubular portion 24 provides a mounting tube below the main body of said front member and which is enclosed by a collar 58 to make it tight when it is placed on top of a Christmas tree trunk or is otherwise mounted. If my device is set on a table or hung on a wall this mounting tube need not be provided.

At its rear said front member 44 has two sockets 56 which are adapted to receive said front legs 26 and thus said connecting plug I8 is supported between said reflector I2 and said front member 44.

On the base portion 50 of said front member 44 an ornamental object 60 is supported which preferably conceals said bulb and fan wheel. It may take various forms, with said front member 44 providing decorative surroundings as, for instance, said ornamental object 60 may represent an angel and said front member 44 the sky. When said bulb 30 is lighted, the heat therefrom causes said fan wheel 40 to rotate thus throwing light beams on said reflector which continuously appear and disappear thus providing a beautiful lighted ornament.

What I claim is:

1. An ornamental device comprising a reflector having two sockets at its front, a front member flector and front member.

forwardly of said reflector in position of use having two sockets at its rear, a connecting member embodying two legs extending rearwardly into said reflector sockets and two other legs extending forwardly into said front member sockets, and a lamp member supported by said connecting member. and located between said reflector and front member.

2. An ornamental device comprising a reflector having two sockets at its front. a front member forwardly of said reflector in position of use having two sockets at its rear, a connecting member having a portion opposite and between said reflector and front member and-a portion extending below them and embodying two legs extending rearwardly into said reflector sockets and embodying two other legs extending forwardly into said front member sockets, and a lamp member at the upper portion of and supported by said connecting member and located between said re 3.
