BOILER FOR COOKING-STOVES.
Specification of Letters Patent No. 28,789, dated June 19, 1860.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I AMBROSE S. STERLING, of the city of Buffalo and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Boilers for Aerovapor Cooking-Stoves; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
A, represents a kettle or boiler which is particularly designed to be used with aerovapor cooking apparatus.
The nature of my improvement relates to making the bottom of the boiler concave upward as shown by the lines (B) and in providing tubes or fiues (C) which connect with the concave bottom and open into the fire chamber and .pass through the water to the outside of the boiler for the purpose of increasing the heating surface and forming a passage for the flame through the interior of the boiler. For an ordinary sized boiler I use six of these tubes but more or less may be used as desired. The tubes may be made of copper, and the boiler of copper, or tin.
The sides of the boiler extend below the bottom (B) as represented at and rest upon the rim (D) as shown at (e) A saucer-shaped bottom with concave downward is made and connected with the rim (D) as represented at (F). It may be separate from the rim and hang upon a flange or shoulder projecting from the rim the support of the boiler and other cooking utensils common to stoves of this description.
The combination and arrangement of the concave bottom (B) extension rim (E) and saucer concave (F) for the purposes and substantially as set forth.
