Aug. 5, 1969 D. A. BARG AccEssomi FOR BRASSIERES Fired July 7, 1967 INVENTOR DORAABARG ATTORNEY United States Patent 3,459,191 ACCESSORY FOR BRASSIERES Dora A. Barg, 4573 N. 30th St., Milwaukee, Wis. 53209 Filed July 7, 1967, Ser. No. 651,825 Int. Cl. A41c 3/02 US. Cl. 128513 4 Claims ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE My invention relates to improvements in brassieres, and more particularly to an accessory adaptable for attachment to a conventional brassiere.
A prime object of my invention is to provide a device of the character described, that is constructed as an accessory of conical contour, that may be applied to a conventional brassiere and become a part thereof.
Still another object of my invention is to construct the device in the form of a conical pocket, sealed at its rear surface and provided with a conventional hookless fasener on its front or outer surface.
A further object of my invention is to provide a device that may be fastened to a standard brassiere in any efficient and convenient manner.
By referring to the drawings and description it will become apparent that the device is adaptable to any existing type of brassiere, and may be attached to the brassiere by means of ribbons, straps, buttons, snaps, or pins. The prime object of the invention being to provide pockets to the brassiere, which pockets are of a form, shape, or contour to fit the brassiere, and fitted with the standard hookless fasteners to permit money, or the like to be inserted therein, for protection during conveying.
Other and further objects of my invention will become more apparent as the description proceeds, when taken in conjunction with the drawings, in Which:
FIGURE 1 is a perspective view of the entire device dessigned to a contour to fit over the left portion of a brassiere;
FIGURE 2 is a side view of the device shown in FIGURE 1;
FIGURE 3 is a perspective view of a pair of the units attached to a conventional brassiere shown in phantom;
FIGURE 4 is a similar view of the device as shown in FIGURE 1, equipped with only conventional snaps for its attachment; and
FIGURE 5 is a vertical cross-sectional view of the assembled device as a pocket, sealed on its forward face by means of a hookless fastener.
Similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views, and referring now to 3,459,191 Patented Aug. 5, 1969 the same, the character 10, shows the front portion of material, conical in contour, and equipped with a conventional hookless fastener shown as 11, and having a pliable cover 12 to cover the sliding member 13 (see FIGURE 4), when the fastener is in a closed position.
The front portion 10 has a back portion 14 of material, of the same shape and contour attached to the outer edge of the front portion 10 at 15, in any convenient and eflicient manner, such as by means of sewing, or the like.
If desired a separate band 16 may be sewed to the bottom edge of the front portion 10 to accommodate a strip 17 for supporting a safety pin shown as 18.
In FIGURE 1, I show a top band 19 for attachment by means of a buckle 20, onto the shoulder strap 21 of the brassiere 22, shown in phantom in FIGURE 3.
The device is a separate distinct accessory designed in pairs, and arranged to be applied to the conventional brassiere as shown in phantom in FIGURE 3. The method employed for fastening the device to the brassiere, may be any conventional and practical means, such as snaps 23, clamps, or pins.
When attached to the brassiere, the device constituting my invention acts as a pocket, opened and closed by the fastener 11 for conveying money, or other valuables, and although I have shown a specific construction, I do not limit myself to the arrangement shown, for many changes may be made without effecting the performance or operativeness of the device, and I reserve the rights to make such changes as I may deem necessary or convenient, witthout departing from the spirit of my invention or the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent in the United States is:
1. An accessory adaptable for attachment to a conventional brassiere comprising:
a back portion that is formed to conform to the contour of one of the breast portions of a brassiere,
a front portion having a conical contour and being attached in a superimposed fashion over said back portion to form a conveying cavity therein,
said front portion having access means therein for providing access to said cavity, and
means for attaching said accessory to a brassiere by superimposing said back portion over one of said breast portions of said brassiere.
2. An accessory, as defined in claim 1, said access means includes a zipper across said front portion.
3. An accessory, as defined in claim 2, wherein said back portion is sewed to said brassiere.
4. An accessory, as defined in claim 3, wherein said accessory has snap means for associating it to said brassiere.
