SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 363,372, dated May 24, 1887.

Serial No. 216,261. (No model.)

To all whom, it may concern:

Be it known that I, Woon C. DoLLnNs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dallas, in the county of Dallas and State of Texas, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements in Kitchen-Cabinets; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and IO the letters and iigures of reference marked thereon, forming a part of this specification. My invention relates to improvements in kitchen-cabinets, andis designed to produce a piece of kitchenfurniture which shall combine in a neat, compact, and substantial form1 various appliances used for culinary purposes, and which shall provide suitable receptacles for the differentutensils and materials used in cooking.

To this end my invention consists in the peculiar construction and combination of parts, hereinafter more fully described, and pointed out in the claims. v

In the drawings, Figure l is a perspective View showing the cuttingboard in operative position, and Fig. 2 is perspective view show` ing the door lowered.

Referring to the drawings, A represents the case or frame of the cabinet, to be attached to 3C the wall of a house at any desired height by hinges a a. In the top of this case are the drawers ff and compartments g g g g to receive various articles, the drawers being suitably partitioned to permit different kinds of spices, extracts, &c., to be keptin one drawer Without danger of their being intermingled.

Directly over the compartments g g is a space,

h, which can be used lor the storage of glassware, china, the. This space is closed by dOOl i..

F is a compartment in the bottom of the cabinet, Somewhat larger than the others, and is designed to be used as a repository for flour, meal, lard, and similar articles.

E is a pie or tart board hinged at in m and folding up over the compartments and drawers above. It is provided. with an opening, e, in which may be inserted the bottom of a pie or other pan, affording a convenient support for 5o it While being lled.

B indicates a door hinged at the i'ront and bottom of the cabinet and folding up against it, where it can be secured by hooks n n, or other fastenings. The door B, when it is let down to a horizontal position, serves as a f5 kneading or pastry board, and rests upon choppingboard D, being supported by the bail G.

C represents a cnttingboard hinged to the ledge b of the door B, having inserted therein a knife or slicer, c, furnishing an easy and ef- Iicient means for slicing apples, potatoes, cabbage, and all other kinds ot' fruit and vegetables, the sliced portion passing out through the slot c.

D represents a choppingboard hinged to and near the bottom of the door or pastryboard, both the chopping and cutting board being capable offolding back upon the door D, where they can be retained in position by hooks o o o o. Upon the under side of the chopping-board is a cushion, d, of rubber or other suitable material, to prevent all noise orshocks that might be caused in the chopping or pounding of meat upon the board D.

G represents a bail pivotally attached to the sides of case A, 4which can be swung up over the top of the cabinet out of the way when not in use. The cuttingboard C has notches lc 7c in the side pieces, c2 c2, in which the bail will rest when the board is down and in position for use. When the choppingboard is desired to be used, the hooks o o are released and the board lowered until it rests upon the cutting'board C. The door or pastry-board B can also be let down when desired, in which caseit will rest upon the chopping-board 'D, the bail G serving as a snp-l port for the door and its attachments C and D.

It will readily be seen from the foregoing description that I furnish a device that will be of inestimable value to honsekeepers, combining, as it does, all of the articles used in the performance of their work and occupying but little space. 95

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new,

Patent, is-- l. The combination, with a lid, of the herciudcecribed and desire to secure by Letters hinged door or separate bail too when raised closes said compartments, sub- 1o stantiaily as described.

In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses;

pivotally secured at its upper ends to the cabinet, and adapted to support on its middle portion the free end of the said door when the latter is in its horizontal position, as set forth. 2. In a. kitchen-cabinet having a suitable frame, the drawers f f, having compartments g g gvg on either side thereof, in combination Witnesses: with the hinged pie-board E, having the open- K H. W.
