Be it known that I, CHARLES H. MUEPHEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Madisonville, in the county of Hopkins and State of Kentucky, have invented a new and useful Faucet Bottle-lVasher, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in bottle-washers, the object in view being to provide a combined faucet and bottle or glass washer, the same being adapted to thoroughly wash various sizes of bottles, glasses, tum blers, dto., or to be used as an ordinary faucet.

Other objects and advantages of the invention will hereinafter appear, and the novel features thereof will be particularly pointed out in the claims.

Referring to the drawings, Figure l is an elevation of a combined faucet and bottlewasher. Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal section. Fig. 3 is a detail in perspective of the bottle or glass receiving funnel or rest.

Like numerals of reference indicate like parts in all the figures of the drawings.

l designates an ordinary faucet, such as usually employed above the ordinary domestic sink, which latter I have deemed it unnecessary to show, and said faucet is operated by the usual handle or lever 2, whereby the water may be let on or cut oif. At the inner end of the faucet l there is connected by means of screw-threads 3 orotherwise a short pipe-section 1i, the rear end of which is provided with threads and adapted for connec tion with the usual supply-pipe. In other words, the pipe 4 is detachably connected to and is interposed between the rear end of the faucet and the supply-pipe. The pipe e 4is of inverted-T shape in that it is provided with an upwardly-disposed or vertical branch 5, which branch has its upper end threaded, as at 6, and below the same is provided with a eut-off 7, operated by an ordinary key 8, the T connection being integral or screwed to gether, as desired. A cap 9 is threaded on the upper end of the branch 5 and has projecting upwardly therefrom a reduced conical nipple lO. From points around the nipple there extends upwardly from the capa series of diverging standards ll, which at their upper ends support an inverted-funnel-shaped rest 12, the opening 13 in the bottom of which is directly above and in line with the upper reduced discharge end of the nipple 10. The

conical-shaped rest is provided with a lip le, which lip and the upper end of the rest are surrounded by an L-shaped flange 15.

In operation if it be desired to employ the device for rinsing or washing bottles, jars, tumblers, dac., the faucet l is closed and the bottle or other article which it is desired to wash is inverted and has its lower end introduced into the conical rest. The key 8 is then turned so as to operate the cut-off and a fine stream or jet of water having consideralole force is ejected by the nipple into the inverted bottle or tumbler, as the case may be, the water after passing into the tumbler being discharged from the same into the conical rest and flowing out through the opening 13 and down into the sink above which the faucet is usually mounted. By closing the cuto 7 the faucet operates in the usual manner.

Having described my invention, what I claim is- 1. The herein-described bottle and glass washer, the same consisting of a reduced nipple adapted to be applied to a water-supply pipe, a cap for supporting the nipple, standards extending upwardly from the cap, and an inverted-coneshaped rest having an opening at-its bottom in line with the nipple and supported by the standards of the cap, substantially as specified.

The herein-described combined bottle and glass washer, consisting of the T-shaped pip e, the horizontal branch of which is adapted for connection with a faucet and water-sup ply pipe and the upper end of which is provided with a cap from which rises a dischargenipple, standards projecting from the cap, and an inverted-cone-shaped rest mounted in the standards and having an opening at its lower end above the nipple, substantially as specified.
