SAMUEL HODGINS, of the city and county of St. Loui invented a new and improved surgical needle, known as Hodgins Spiral Fissure Needle for closing wounds, cleft palates, fissures n utero, and fissures z'n :ma

and I hereby declare that the followingr is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures marked thereon.

This invention consists of a wire made from th made solid, hollow, or grooved.

Having thus'described my invention, what I claim as new herein, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. The spiral fissure needle A B, constructed substantially as and for the purpose herein specified.
