TO ALL WHOM IT MAY OONCERN:
Be it known that I, J. K. ANDREWS, of Antrimfin the county of Guernsey, and n the State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Plates; and do hereby decla-re that the following is a, full, clear, amd exact description thereof', reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the lettersof' reference marked thereon, making a. part of this specification.
`My invention consists in dividing a. common household plete into three or more spaces or compartments, for different kinds of food. i
This plete, A, is made of the usual materials, and so formed, as shown, by means of small ribs or strips, that'there'are three or more spaces, a I1 c, left upon the surface of the plate for the different kinds of food, and prevent them from mixing with each other.` The bottom of each plate should be grooved to correspond with the ribs, so to occupy as small a space as possible when the onel is' piled upon the other. These plates may be manufactured in any ot' the usual ways, forming the ribs upon them.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A plsteprovided with partitions in the centre and with s rim in the usuel form, for the purposes set' forth.
In testimony that I cla-im the foregoing, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th day of July, 1867.
