SOAP-SUPPLIER.

To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, J OHN ScHwEcHLER, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Soap-Suppliers, of which the following is a specification.
My invention consists of an improved soapsupplier, as will be hereinafterfully described and claimed.

Referring to the drawings, A designates the supporting arm or bracket, having a threaded shank B, by means of which it can be secured in position. To the upper end of said arm A is a support 0 for the soap tube or recep tacle D. Although said support may be otherwise constructed, I have in the present instance shown the same as consisting of an upright cylindrical casing having an inturned annular flange E at its lower end, upon which the receptacle D rests. I also provide a cover F for said casing and means for looking the same in position, said means conveniently consisting of eyes G and II near the upper end of the casing and a pintle J at one side of the cover and an eye K on the other side. The pintle enters the eye G, and a lock L fastens the eyes H and K.
The receptacle D is cylindrical and fits within the casing (J and is provided at its lower end with an extension or nozzle M, that fits within the opening formed by flange E, while the upper end of the receptacle is closed by a cap N threaded thereon. Fitting within the'receptacle D is a follower P, having peripheral guide-notches Q, to receive the longitudinal guides R on the interior of the re- The lower end of the follower P is plain, while a nut S is supported by the legs T rising from the upper side thereof. The'cover F, cap N, and follower P have openings concentric with the nut S, throughwhich passes the threaded stem U, the latter being provided with a finger-piece or handle V at its upper end, by means of which it is turned. Rigidly secured to said stem, just below the cap N, is a ratchet-wheel "W, that is engaged by a spring-pawl X on the cap, said ratchet-wheel and pawl preventing a reverse motion of the stem, while the ratchet-wheel also prevents the upward longitudinal movement of the stem.
The operation is as follows: The soap supplied by this device is soft or in a plastic state, and in Fig.1 is designated by Y. When the receptacles D are first inserted, the follower P should be at the top thereof and the receptacle filled with soap Y. Said receptacle is then placed in the position shown in Fig. 1 and locked. The ratchet-wheel IV and pawl X prevent the stem from being turned except to feed the follower P toward the bottom of the receptacle. When the stem is turned therefore, the soap is forced through the nozzle M, from which it is removed by the user. When the follower reaches the bottom of the receptacle, the stem cannot be turned in either direction, thus denoting that the device is empty. locked and the empty receptacle removed and replaced by a full one.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a device of the kind specified, a tubular support having a flange or ledge at its lower edge, a receptacle having a nozzle or extension at its lower'end to project through the opening made by said flange' or ledge, the lower portion of said receptacle resting upon said flange or ledge, a locking device for confining said receptacle within said support, and said receptacle being provided with a follower, and means for feeding the same.
2. In a device of the kind specified, a sup port, a removable receptacle situated therein and having an opening at its lower end, a cover for said support adapted to confine said receptacle, a locking device for said cover, a follower within said receptacle, a threaded stem passing through said cover and the up per end of said receptacle and engaging said follower, a ratchet-wheel carried by said The cover can then be unstem, a pawl engaging said ratchet-wheel and means for turning said stem.
3. In a device of the kind specified, a support, having an inwardly-projecting flange 5 at its lower portion, a receptacle having a discharge-opening in its lower portion, contained within said support and resting on said flange, a threaded stem within said receptacle, a follower actuated by said stem, means for preventing said follower from turn- :0 ing, a ratchet-Wheel carried by said stein, and a pawl engaging said ratchet-wheel.
