LETTER-SHEET.

Specification of Letters Patent.

Patented July 7, 1908.

Application filed November 17, 1906. Serial No. 343,862.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM T. MORRISON, a citizen of 'the United States, and resident of the borough of Bronx, in the city and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Im rovementin Letter-Sheets, of which the fol owing is a specification.

My invention consists in a letter sheet having a ortion separated from the rest of the sheet y a weakened line, said separated ortion having a forwarding or return ad ess thereon and being gummed on its back for attachment to an article to be forwarded or returned so that the person who receives the letter may sever the separated portion from the rest of the sheet and as'te it on an envelop, thus preventin all anger of an incorrect address being p aced on the said envelop and eliminatin the necessity of writing or printing an ad ress thereof.

A practical embodiment of my invention is refiireisented in the accompanying drawings in w 1c 1 Figure 1 represents a front view of a letter sheet embodying my invention, Fig. 2 is a back view of the same, Fi 3 is a front view of the letter sheet with t e address portion detachably secured thereto, and Fi 4 is a front view of an envelop with the etached :0 address portion secured thereto.

The letter sheet is denoted by 1 and the detachable address portion which is partially severed therefrom is denoted by 2. In the present instance this detachable address portion is shown as having printed thereon a return address to the writer of the letter. The back of the detachable address portion 2 is gummed as shown at3, so as to permit the said address ortion to be readily secured to the front of t e envelop 4. This detachable address portion 2 is partially severed from the letter sheet so that it may be readily detached when desired for use.

It is to be understood that this detachable address portion of the letter sheet may be used if so desired, in various other ways than that hereinabove set forth.

What I claim is:

A letter sheet having a portion separated from the rest of the sheet by a weakened line, said separated portion havin a forwardim or return address thereon and eing gummed on its back for attachment to an article to be forwarded or returned.

In testimony, that I claim the foregoing as my invention, I have signed my name in plresence of two witnesses, this 15th day of ovember 1906.
