rem-ABLE BATH.
Specification of Letters Patent... t t July 2 1910, A ucauon'mea January 11,1910. Serial No. 537,434. a
To all whom it may concern:. V Be it known that I, AARoN E. HoovE'n, .a
hate
useful Improvements in Portable Baths and l do hereby declarethe following to be a full, clear, and exact description if the invention, such as Will enable others Skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to portable bath apparatus and has for an object to rovide a tank provided with compartments or containing hot and cold water with improved means for drawing 'the water from such compartments and applying it at will tti the bather. p
A further object of the invention is to provide in combination with such compartments a lurality of flexible tubes for carrying di erent implements wit-h means for directing water from either compartment into either or both of the tubes as desired.
A further object of the invention is to provide improved means fordrawing water from either or both compartments in such amounts as may be found desirable to prosuch commingled waters through one or more flexible tubes as may be found desirable.
p With these and other objects in view, the
invention comprises certain novel constructions, combinations and arrangements of parts, as will be hereinafter fully described and claimed.
I In the-drawings:-Figure 1 is a erspeetive view of the improved device s own in operation. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional v ew through the compartments with the connecting tubes shown in elevation. Fig.
3 is a detail sectional view of one of the valves.
responding parts throughout the several views.
a As shown in the drawings a tank orreservoir 1 is provided having a partition 2 60 dividing such reservoir into two compartments numbered, respectively, 3 and 4. The reservoir as a whole is provided with any approved means for suspending shown as eyes or loops 5 adapted to be engaged upon duce the correct temperature and to conduct Like characters of reference designate cor name to this specification in the nails or hooks 6in ,the'wall or any other convenient body.
'Communicati with the compartments 3 and 4, respective y, are tubes or pipes 7 and 8 provided, respectively, with valves or 000 s9 and 10 and joining at a Y which -Y communicates with a valve shown as a whole a-t-ll. The valve 11 comprises a casing with a turning plug disposed therein having a tapered bore 12 as shown at Fig. 3 which tapered bore is adapted to deliver water to either the-tubes 13 or 1 1 when disposed as shown at Fig; 3 or by completely reversing the plug to deliver water to boththe pipes 13 and 141. To the pipes or nipples 13 and 14 are secured flexible hose or pipes 15and 16 one of which, as the pipe 15, car- 'ries one implement asthe shower ring 17 while the other hose carries a different-implement as the spray brush 18. V In operation the cocks 9 and 10 or either of them is opened until the temperature of the water flowing into the valve 11 is right. The temperature being attained the valve 11 is turned until the water is. directed either through the hose '15 or 16' as may be desired and is then used as indicated or as ordinarily employed with such implements.
What I claim 1s:-- r
1. The combination with a tank having a plurality of compartments, of pipes communicating with such compartments and leading -to a 'sin 1e 'valve, said valve being adapted to de iver water to branch pipes as desired, and implements carried upon such branch pipes fol-employing the water for bathing purposes.
2.- The combination with a tank having a pluralityof compartments, of a valve,
pipes leading from the compartments and and adapted to control the flow of water from the compartments, branch pipes lead- "ing from the valve, and bathing implements carriedby the branch pipes.
.In'testlmony whereof I have signed my presence of two subscribing witnesses.
AARON E. HOOVER.
