' shoulder to protect the same, when carrying a weight, by means ot' a strap extending over the Shoulder; the device beingdesigned 'lor use vespecially by mail carriers.

A further object the production of a device of the character mentioned whiclrwill be o'f durable and economical construction and etlicient in operation.

Other objects will appear hereinafter.

lVith these objects in view my invention consists in a shoulder protector characterized as above mentioned and in certain detaiis of construction and arrangement ot parte all as will be hereinail'tcr `fully described and more articularly pointed out in the appended c aims.

My invention will be more readily understood by` reference to the accompanying drawing forming a part ot' this specification, and in which,
