PATENT OFFICE DESIGN FOR A JAR of New York Application February 8, 1936, Serial No. 61,050

. Term of patent 14 years To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Edwin W. Fuerst, a citizen of the United. States, and residing at Toledo, in the county of Lucas and State of Ohio, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Jar, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.

In the drawing:

Fig. 1 is a top plan view of a jar showing my design.

Fig. 2 is a side elevational view thereof.

The dominant features of the design comprise the use of a plurality of widely spaced shallow grooves in the outer surface of the jar extending from a point near the base thereof spirally to the neck end thereof, the grooves being reversely curved near the bottom and in the region of the shoulder portions to give the appearance of relatively broad, convexed spiral flutes in the body of the jar. The spirally grooved shoulder portions merge into a plain cylindrical neck having an enlarged annular bead surmounted by a cap-receiving lip.

I claim: The ornamental design for a jar substantially as shown and described.
