To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, JOHN KENZ and GEORGE KRAFT,of New Orleans,in the parish of Orleans and State of Louisiana, have originated and designed a Pattern for Shoes, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, making part of this specification.
A represents an ordinary shoe, and B a strip which is vertically secured in front of the upper portion thereof. The aforesaid strip is composed of two kinds of leather or other material, a b, the upper one made somewhat narrower than the under one, with which it is connected by stitching, either in straight, angular, or curved lines a, and the said strip may be ornamented with perforations d, or with any figures that may be selected. Suitable colors should be employed to produce a In testimony whereof we have hereunto signed our names.
