DOCUMENT NUMBER lim 'NITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOSEPH S. FIELD, OF BROOKLYN, NEV YORK.
DESIGN FOR SHEET-METAL BOXES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 11,158.. dated April 15, 1879; application filed March 14, 1879.
I [Term of patent 3?; years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH S. FIELD, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Design for lSheet-Metal Boxes; and the following is declared to be an exact description Of the same.
box are inclined, so that they are nearer together at the upper edges than at the bottom, and hence are similar to a truncated pyramid. The sides fand ends g of the cover are inclined in the Opposite direction, so that the top and bottom Ot' the box are larger than the joint between the cover and the bottom Of the box. This produces a handsome appearance in the box, and renders itmore acceptable and ornament-al.
I claim as my invention` The ornamental shape and configuration ot' the sheet-metal box, the same having the sides and ends of the lower part of the box inclined inwardly, and the sides and ends of the lid ot' the box also being inclined inwardly, as shown.
Signed by lne this 12th day Of March, A. D. 1879.
