PATENT OFFICE DESIGN FOR A GOLF CLUB HEAD Howard P. G. Newsome, Memphis, Tenn.

Application January 27, 1940, Serial No. 89,767 Term of patent 14 years To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Howard P. G. Newsome, a citizen of the United States, residing at Memphis, in the county of Shelby and State of Tennessee, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for Golf Club Heads, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof, in which Fig. 1 is a rear elevation of a golf club head, showing my new design,

Fig. 2, an end elevation,

Fig. 3, a section on line 3-3 of Fig. 1, and

Fig. 4, a section on line 4-4 of Fig. 1.

The dominant feature of the design is the indentation at the rear of the club head, which indentation is relatively deep and narrow adjacent the hosel, but is Wide and shallow adjacent the toe, said indentation gradually widening and becoming shallower from the hosel toward the toe.
