UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE PORTABLE VACUUM CLEANER Clarence Karstadt, Glen Ellyn, Ill., assignor to Birtman Electric Company, a corporation of Illinois Term of patent 14 years To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Clarence Karstadt, a citizen of the United States, residing at Glen Ellyn, in the county of Du Page and State of Illinois, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Portable Vacuum Cleaner, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof, in which:

Fig. 1 is a side elevation of the new portable vacuum cleaner; Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof; Fig. 3 is a side elevation of the new portable vacuum cleaner showing the side opposite to that shown in Fig. 1; and Fig. 4 is a front elevation thereof.

This application is a continuation of my 00- pending application Serial No. D. 4,187, filed July 28, 1949, now abandoned, which was a continuation of application Serial No. D. 150,443, filed December 30, 1948, now abandoned, which was a continuation of my application Serial No.

D. 146,708, filed January 1, 1948, and now abandoned.

I claim: The ornamental design for a portable vacuum cleaner, as shown and described.
