ARCHIBALD BANNAIYNE, OF \VATERBURY, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE VVATERBUR-Y CLOCK COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.

DESIGN FOR A CLOCK-DIAL.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,264, dated April 24, 1888.

Application filed May 3, 1857.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, ARCHIBALD BANNA- TYNE, residing at Waterbury, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design in Clock-Dials; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which forms a part of this specification.

The accompanying drawing is a view in front elevation of a clock provided with a dial of my design.

The leading feature of my design is the representation of a druggist.

The dial A is of ordinary pattern, so far as time-indication is concerned. The drnggist B, as hererepresented, is standing behind acounter, 0, and in frontof shelves, D,of drugs. He is represented as manipulating a pestle, E, which he holds in one hand, inamortar, F, 10-

cated upon the said counter, at the farther end of which is a window, G, containing the druggists sign H. The other surroundings are those of the drug-store.

I claiin The design for a clock dial herein shown and described, the same consisting of a clockdial bearing the representation of a drnggist with a pestle in his hand, a mortar, a counter upon which the mortar is placed and behind which the drnggist stands, and shelves of drugs, drnggists signs in a window, and other appointments of a drug-store.
