Be it known that. I, EDWARD \V. This invention eonsists of a design for orl namenting the surface of fahriesof that elass I known as upholstery plush. t
Jhe aeeompanying photograph is a fat-e 1 YltW of my design.
This design eonsists of an endless seroll or i vine pattern, and can be repeated any desired number of times upon the fabric. The photograph shows seve 'al repeats. A eontin nous stem or branch the, general direction of which is longitudinal and another stem or branch the general direetion oi? which is transverse or at right angles to the first form the continuous lines of the design through all the repeats. From these main stems eurred branches, gen erally terminating in scrolls, projeet in various direetions. The t'alirie (upholstery plush) to whieh this design is applied has a wrinkled surface, so that the peculiar appearance eommon to smooth plush is greatly heightened, and the efi'eet of thedesign upon this surfaee is hoth novel and beautiful.
