DGCUMENT NUMEER UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.

VILLIAM BAKER, JR., OF BALTIMORE COUNTY, MARYLAND.

DESIGN FOR A BOTTLE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,125, dated June 4, 1889.

Application led April 29, 1839. Serial No. 309,116. Term of patent 14: years.

To @ZZ whom t may concern.-

Be it known that I, WILLIAM BAKER, J r., of Baltimore county, and State of Maryland, have invented a new and useful Design fora Bottle, of which. the following' is a complete description.

Figure 1 is a perspective view of the bottle as it appears when inished. Fig. 2 is a crosssection taken on line c 0c of Fig. l, or on any line parallel with the line a', fr drawn through the body of the bottle. Fig. 3 is a viewlooking down upon the top.

The shape of the body of the bottle is as follows: Viewing Fig. 2, which shows a crosssection, A is the ordinary fiat back. generally used upon bottles known as the l-lakes. Upon this iiat back is usually blown or otherwise placed the naine of the apothecary, grocer, or other party whose goods are put up in these bottles. At the Jterminals of the line A which makes the back, two concaved lines a, and a project outwardly and inwardly and form part oit' the back and a portion of the sides of the bottle. From the terminals of these concaved lines the rest of the sides and the entire front of the bottle are formed by the oval line B, which sweeps around and joins the ends of the lines aand a about in Upon this front B is usuthe form shown.

ally pasted the label containing the description of the contents, or whatever else maybe desired to place thereon. This gives a long line and smooth surface for the label and Inakes a very attractive bottle. The body of the bottle is of the same coniiguration liroin the top to the bottom. The shoulder C forms a gentle curve both ways, from side to side and from Afront to back, and in the center is placed the neck D and mouth-piece, as shown in Figs. l and 3.

That I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

A design for a bottle having a body of uniform configuration bounded by a straight line at the back, two concaved lines, as a and d', extending from the terminals of the back line inwardly and outwardly and forming part of the back and a portion of the sides, the ends oi' the latter joined by the oval line B, which forms the other portion of the sides and all of the front, the body being' surinounted by the curved shoulder O, in the center of which is placed the neck D, substantially as shown and described.
