DESIGN FOR A HAT-RACK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,024, dated July 15, 1890.
Application filed May 29, 1890. Serial No. 353,665. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE MERKEL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia,iu the county of Philadelphiaand State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and useful Design for lIat-ltacks, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.
In the drawings, Figure l is a front elevation of a hat-rack, showing my design, and Fig. 2 is an edge view thereof, both these figures being deemed necessary for the full disclosure of my design.
The leading feature of my design is a starshaped frame havingits parts i nterlaced. The hooks or pins are secured on this frame at the angles of the same and the spaces thereof are filled with glass.
The frame A is in the form of a star, and on the points 13 and at the angles C of the frame the pins or hooks D are arranged. The parts E of the frame are fitted together so as to appear to be interlaced, as shown at Hand lines (I are drawn longitudinally upon said parts to make that appearance more pronounced. Glass II is placed in the spaces I between the parts of the frame, and said glass is provided with beveled edges J. The hooks K have their shanks provided with the annular enlargements or ribs L, and their points M are curved slightly upward and rearward. They also have downwardly and forwardly curved spurs N near their rear ends.
