UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.

HENRY J. HEINZ, OF IITTSHIIILG, PENNSYLVANIA.

DESIGN FOR A BOTTLE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,830, dated June 9, 1891.

Application filed January 30, 1891. Serial NoK 379,702. Terni ol patent 14 years.

To all whom t 17mg/ concern.'

Beit known that I, HENRY J. HEINZ, of Pittsburg, in 'the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and original Design for Bottles, of which the following is a full, clear, and exaei, description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in whieh Figure 1 shows in side View a bottle showing my design. Fig. 2 is a horizontal Section on the line II II of Fig. 1.

The leading feature of my design consists in a bottle the lower part of which is polygonal in eross-section, having a series of parallel upright fiat faces 2 extending about two-thirds of the distance to the top of the bottle, above which the bottle is circular in eross-section and eonieal in outline. At the level a (L the inclina( ion of the sides becomes steeper, more nearly approaching the forni oi' a cylinder.

In the drawings, 2 2 are the Hat faces, and 3 4.- are the upper portions, circular in cross- Seetion. The extension of the faces 2 for a major portion of the length of the bottle, together with its large diameter in relation to the length, gives thehottle apeeuliarand distinctive appearance.

I claim- The design for bottles, substantially as herein shown and described.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 24th day of January, A.D. 180].
