DESIGN FOR A FONT OF PRINTING-TYPE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,141, dated November 3, 1891. Application filed February 14, 1891 Serial N0 381,501. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

lie it known that I, CHARLES ll. BEELEn, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of lhiladell'ihia, Pennsylvania, have invented a Design for lri nting lype of which the following is a specification.

My design for afontoi printingtyliie isfnlly illustrated in the accompanying typographical impression.

The type of the font are known as initial letters,and the special feature of the design is the combination of a hand and a letter, the hand grasping the letter and having the index-finger pointing to the right. The letters, as shown in the present instance, are all upper-case letters, and are intended for initial letters. Grasping each letter is the representation of a hand, the index-finger pointing to the right and the thumb and secondand third fingers clasping' one of the bars of the letters. The style of the present type is known as light face.

The design for the font of type, as herein described, and as shown in the accompanying typographical impression.
