(" ONKEY COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.

DESIGN FOR A BADGE.

To all whom it In/cry concern.-

Be it known that I, WALTER l3. CONKEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ohicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and original Design for Badges; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part hereof.

My invention is a novel design for a badge or ribbon as shown in the accompanying drawing which is a face view of the same.

The said drawing represents a badgein the form of a banner, near the upper end of which is an ornamentation consisting in the representation of two hemispheres, side by side and surmounted by an eagle with outstretched wings. Upon the breast of the eagle is a shield bearing the stars and stripes. Surrounding this is a fanciful design, approximately rectangular in contour-,aud composed of a series of rectangular spaces along the sides and fancy designs for corners. In the center of each of these rectangular spaces is a dot or small figure. On the upper side of the figure the rectangular spaces are omitted or appear to be obscured by the upper part of the eagle. On the outside of the rectangular spaces are graceful curves forming a border. The eflect produced is novel and ornamental, and the arrangement is effective, agreeable and pleasing to the eye.

I claim as my invention- The design for a badge substantially as shown and described.

In testimony whereof I aifix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
