DESIGN FOR A FRAME FOR FIRE-GRATES.
To all whom it hay concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES H. PORTER, a. citizen of the United States, residing at Roek- "mi, in the county ot Winnebago and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Frames for Fire Grates, of which the following is a Specification.
In the accompanying drawing is shown a. perspective View of a frame embodying my design.
One of the leading features of my design consists in the flnted column formingthe vertical sides of the frame.
Another leading feetn re consists in the capitels at the upper ends of the columns.
Another leading feature is the frieze, snitnhly ornnniented, having its center portion depressed, and another leading feature is the cornice, suitably ornamented, having its center portion depressed.
The frame is intended for use in connection with a mantel and is composed of vertical sides and a top portion connecting the sides,
a. more minute description of which wiil now be given. The sides are made up of a hase l and a colmnn 2, having its fece provided with lengthwise tintes 3 and its inner edge having a. beaded molding 4.
