LAROY S.

STARRETT, OF ATIIOL, MASSACHUSETTS.

DESIGN FOR A PLUMB AND LEVEL FRAME.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,392, dated April 14, 1896.

Application filed May 28, 1895- Serial No. 551,023- Term ol patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, LAROY S. STARRETT, of Athol, in the county of \Vorcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Plumb and Level Frame, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a specification.

The characteristic features of my design are an elongated skeleton frame having broad parallel upper and lower marginal bars and concave or inwardly-curving ends uniting said bars, together with curved or scroll-like skeleton work sunken within such frame and extending from the lower to the upper bar, two cylindrical vertical pillars similarly extending at equal distances from the respective ends, and a central cylinder supported from one of said marginal bars and parallel therewith. One side of each of said cylindrical parts is cut away each side of a central line, exposing a curved surface having the appearance of glass. A thin rib extends inwardly from the marginal bars and ends and becomes merged in the sunken skeleton work.

The drawings represent, in Figure 1, an elevation of my plumb and level frame, in which the peculiarities above specified are found, although the skeleton scrollwork varies somewhat in practice, more of such work being found, of course, in the long than in the short sizes. The general effectis the same in them all. Fig. 2 is a vertical section taken on the dotted lines of Fig. 1.

I claim as my invention- The design for a plumb and level frame, substantially as shown and described.

In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification, in the presence of two subscribing witnesses, on this 13th day of May, A. D. 1895.

LAROY S. STARRETT.
